Oil began to form millions of years ago .This process started with tiny plants and

animals that lived in the earth's oceans. When they died ,they sank to the bottom of the

sea and rotted. Then they were covered by rocks ,which sometimes pushed them deep into

the earth, hydrogen and carbon came together and made hydrocarbons. Oil can be found

under the earth's surface but it is not easy to find so ,modern technology must be used.

For example ,information from satellites pictures helps to make geological maps .Drill and

machines are used to extract it.

The places where oil may be found include deep under the sea, under the desert or

under the ice or snow. Special drills must go underground and extract samples of the

earth from there. If there are oil and gas ,the drills bring them up ,too. When crude oil

and gas come from the ground ,they are mixed with many other substances. Before the oil

can be used, unwanted substances must be removed at a refinery .Oil products are of

Do you want to sleep? ‘’ babies can’t answer, but they learn the most important sounds in their language before they are six months old.

Babies often cry to communicate with people around them, so their parents speak to them. They point to interesting things and they repeat lots of words. Babies listen and slowly learn to speak. Their first words are often the names of the people in the family or the things in the house. Before they are eighteen months old, most children can say about twenty words and can understand a lot more. Read the following passage, then answer the questions below: It was a hot summer night. My family were all asleep except me. I was enjoying reading a story about a man who became very rich and famous after a lot of hard work. Suddenly, I heard a noise coming from the kitchen. I immediately thought it was a thief. I got up quickly and walked quietly to the kitchen door. It was my little daughter Sara. She was very thirsty. She was looking for a bottle of water in the fridge. Luckily, I was close to her when she lifted the bottle to her mouth and drank a little. She cried in a chocked voice. I looked at the bottle and was horrified to find that it contained a cleaning chemical. I, at once, put my index finger into her mouth and made her vomit. Then, I called the doctor and told him about what had happened and what I had done. He told me not to worry and that she would be alright. Since that time, the poor little girl was always careful when she wanted to drink anything from a bottle. I advised my wife to keep all the chemicals and medicines away from children.
