Ernest Hemingway, Martin Luther King, Walt Disney, Einstein, Fidel Castro, JFK, Winston Churchill, Picasso, Glen Gould, Audrey Hepburn: we all know that single, most famous picture of every one of them.

Behind the camera was the legendary photographer Yousuf Karsh.

The film illuminates the multiple meanings ordinary people as well as critics, curators and philosophers attach to portrait photographs and - through the prism of these meanings - portrays the singular career of Yousuf Karsh the ultimate mythmaker.

Karsh rose from being a poor, immigrant commercial photographer to becoming the world famous ‘Karsh of Ottawa’. From an early age, his status began to acquire such universal currency that his portraits could elevate the sitters to the Pantheon of Secular Sainthood. To be 'Karshed' was a synonym for having attained the summit of worldly achievement. During his six-decade career the 15,312 portraits he made are arguably the portrait gallery of the most celebrated figures of the 20th century and rank him as one of the greatest of 20th century photographers.

When a former high school classmate of Nash’s, Todd, offers Boy Crazy Stacey (BCS) a gig at a relatively unknown festival, the Resurrocktion, Nash grabs the chance with both hands, only to find on the day that it’s a Christian event.

After being given inspiration from a most unlikely source, Nash (Josh Mapleston) decides he’s going to teach these goody-goodies a thing or two about the Devil’s music.

First, however, Nash needs to convince the punters to come see Boy Crazy Stacey rather than the religious Iona Passion Play, and Nash’s people skills have never been his strong point.

The ever-charming Comet (Ashley Fitzgerald) comes to Nash’s aid, but their bonding time is spoiled by the arrival of Todd (Alexander Monojlovic) who claims he wants to help out.

Only when fans of Todd’s Christian supergroup Goodspeed start to swarm do his motivations seem a little suspect – he seems intent on overshadowing Nash rather than spreading the good word about Boy Crazy Stacey.

Meanwhile, BCS drummer, Luke’s (Jeremy Keast) quest to deflower virgins takes a detour when he picks up ex-alcoholic born-again, Michelle (Kate Hankin).

And Nash’s brother, Jasper (Mark Pound) encounters some less than liberal opinions from Goodspeed bass-player Clint (Brett Dowson) and subsequently urges Nash not to play any offensive songs onstage for fear of turning the audience.

Nash is forced to choose between the safe path of popularity and the Highway to Hell.

Experience the daily rollercoaster ride of family life in the new comedy series Outnumbered. The series provides an honest portrayal of the well meaning, parental incompetence that happens in most homes. Mum (Claire Skinner) and Dad (Hugh Dennis) attempt to raise their three inquisitive and imaginative kids with minimum emotional damage for all concerned.

The eldest child is Jake (Tyger Drew-Honey), a thoughtful eleven-year-old whose parents are a perpetual embarrassment to him. Then there’s Ben (Daniel Roche), a terrifyingly exuberant eight-year-old who, when his sister locks herself in the bathroom, advises his exasperated Dad to lob beavers in through the window so that they can eat the door. Finally, there’s Karen (Ramona Marquez), a five-year-old girl with the looks of an angel and the mind of a barrister, who can demoralise adults at will with her relentless interrogations.

In the first episode, it’s the first day back at school and the family are struggling to get out the door which is no comfort to Jake, who is starting at a new school and doesn’t want to be late. Ben makes matters worse by constantly trying to deceive his parents and arguing with his sister Karen about who owns a certain book. But when he refuses to leave the house, Dad finds himself bribing Ben with a five pound note.

Promising young footballer Billy Roberts lives at home with his blind dad, John. While visiting the club’s sponsors to be kitted out, Billy is caught stealing an extra pair of trainers. Despite his dad’s pleas, the club has no choice but to throw Billy out and shatter his dreams of becoming a premier league footballer. His friend Terry, who requested the trainers in the first place, suggests a new, more lucrative career for Billy – drugs. Billy is reluctant at first, but agrees when the temptation of fast cars and easy money proves too much to resist.

Billy’s dad may be blind, but he’s not stupid - he knows he’s losing his son to his new career and, when Mick’s sisters tells him of the flash car parked outside his house, he confronts Billy who admits he got the money from drugs. John throws Billy out.

After a close friend, Mick, has an overdose from cocaine, Billy asks his dad if he can come home, John welcomes him back. Mako and Terry pay Billy a visit. Mick dipped and as a result he owes Mako hundreds – Billy goes to his room and takes the money he made from drugs, not hundreds but thousands. He throws it at Mako along with the keys for the flash car – he can keep it. Billy visits Mick in hospital doped up to the eyeballs with drugs – the irony. As Billy leaves he is pounced upon by Mako and Terry. Mako smacks him in the face with a baseball bat. From the blur of his hospital bed Billy sees a series of visitors – Brian Peterson, Laura and City’s coach. Mick shows him the headlines: Mako and Terry have been sent down thanks to Billy. Billy drifts off and dreams about football and we know there is hope…

Conviction: The True Story Of Clarence Elkins

This documentary is about the life, wrongful conviction and eventual release of Clarence Elkins who was accused of raping and murdering his mother-in-law and raping his six-year-old niece in a small town in Ohio, US, in 1998. His wife Melinda spent all her money fighting for eight years to prove that police had the wrong man.

This gripping story of justice gone wrong, looks into the role of luck in the criminal justice system. In order for Clarence Elkins to prove his innocence, all of the stars had to align – and they did. It’s a story that would be unbelievable if it wasn’t true.

Having won the 2007 Big Sky Documentary Film Festival Award for Best Short Documentary, the story follows the work of University of Cincinnati College of Law Professor Mark Godsey and the law school’s Ohio Innocence Project.

The project investigates cases where inmates have steadfastly maintained their innocence from beginning to end, using new evidence to shed light on their case. The team, through an analysis of DNA and testimony, led the charge to have Elkins released from prison after his wrongful conviction.

Robin Hood: Sins Of The Father

Gisborne (Richard Armitage) has yet to return to Nottingham. The grasping Sheriff (Keith Allen), meanwhile, is after more loot and so hires a new tax collector, ruthless Rufus (Bill Ward), who arrives with his son, Edmund (Liam Boyle), to witness Robin (Jonas Armstrong) and the Outlaws attack the Sheriff’s men.

To prove his hard-man credentials, Rufus storms into Locksley village and throws his weight around, smashing up Kate’s family’s pottery and kiln. Kate (Joanne Frogatt) fights back and is forced to accompany bully boy Rufus to Locksley Manor, his new home.

Much (Sam Troughton) and Robin arrive at Locksley Manor to save Kate. Robin decides they will have to kidnap Rufus but their ambush doesn’t quite go to plan. Kate and Allan are taken captive by Rufus and Edmund is captured by Robin.

Kate and Allan are held prisoner in the butcher’s shop – which Rufus has claimed as his own. Robin searches Locksley Manor, while Tuck interrogates Edmund.

Rufus forces Scrope, the Sheriff’s treasurer, to secretly work for him. Scrope persuades the Sheriff to loan his troops to the Earl of Northumberland, allowing Rufus to raid the treasury. The Sheriff discovers he’s been robbed and, without a second thought, kills Scrope and charges off to the butcher’s shop.

Meanwhile, back in the forest, Edmund explains to Tuck that Rufus’s father was killed by the Sheriff and confesses that the butcher’s shop is his father’s hideout – where he’s holding Kate and Allan. A confrontation ensues between Robin and his gang, the Sheriff, Rufus and Edmund, and terrible truths are revealed.

Stacey travels back to Essex and into the arms of Gavin. Everything seems perfect until Pam and Mick offer to cover the down payment on a house for the pair.

Stacey tells Gavin it can’t work between them because they both need to live in their own towns. If they were truly meant to be together, this wouldn’t matter, they wouldn’t even think about it. She gives him her wedding ring back.

Back in Barry, Nessa is going into labour, with Bryn and Gwen at hand. Pam tells Gavin and Stacey and the hunt to find Smithy begins.

Nessa is heavily in labour and it looks like Smithy may miss the birth as he and Gavin don’t have the right money for the toll bridge, and an altercation begins before the police intercept.

Land ownership on the American side of the border is a bitterly contested issue between the original Mexicans and powerful cattle and lumber interests in turn-of-the-century New Mexico.

In an effort to protect their interests, the Mexican-Americans, led by Luis Chama, present their claims to a prejudiced judge in the town of Sinola. When it appears they are going to be crushed, they stage a riot, burn the records at the land office, and imperil the judge until Joe Kidd, who has just slept off a drunken stupor in jail, manages to get the judge away to safety.

Big time land owner Frank Harlan arrives at the village with an entourage including his girlfriend Elma, sharpshooters Lamarr and Mingo, and determines to eliminate once and for all, the forces opposing his titles to the lands. Kidd becomes a member of Harlan’s group as a tracker when he visits his own spread and discovers that Chama’s men have stolen his horses and cruelly injured a faithful employee.
