A 6 - y e a r - o l d S a u d i b o y was n o t i c e d b y h i s f a m i l yt o h a v e a s w e l l i n g on t h e l e f t s i d e o f h i s f a c e f o r 4m o n t h s p r i o r t o p r e s e n t i n g a t t h e h o s p i t a l . A h i s t o r y o ftrauma was d e n i e d . T h e l e s i o n was o c c a s i o n a l l y p a i n f u lb u t n o t c u m b e r s o m e . T h e c h i l d was a d m i t t e d t o t h e r e -f e r r i n g h o s p i t a l w h e r e h e u n d e r w e n t t e m p o r a l cran-i o t o m y a n d a t t e m p t e d e x c i s i o n o f t h e t u m o r . T h e l e s i o n e x t e n d e d i n t o b u t d i d n o t i n v o l v e t h el e f t t e m p o r o - m a n d i b u l a r j o i n t . On T 2 - w e i g h t e d i m a g -i n g , t h e l e s i o n s h o w e d areas o f i n c r e a s e d s i g n a l i n t e n -s i t y c o n s i s t e n t w i t h s u b a c u t e b l e e d ; t h e l e s i o n was l o c u -l a t e d a n d c o n t a i n e d m u l t i p l e f l u i d - f l u i d l e v e l s . T h ep a t i e n t was e v a l u a t e d b y neuro- a n d t h e m a x i l l o f a c i a lsurgeons a n d u n d e r w e n t t o t a l e x c i s i o n o f t h e tumorp i e c e m e a l . T h i s was p e r f o r m e d i n two s t a g e s ; f i r s t , b yt h e neurosurgeons f o r t h e i n t r a c r a n i a l e x p a n s i o n ; a n dl a t e r , b y t h e m a x i l l o f a c i a l surgeons f o r t h e e x t e n s i o ni n t o t h e z y g o m a t i c process.
