Account A location where CCBCC sells and delivers product. See Customer or Outlet. Account Developer (AD) The sales representative assigned to most Home Market accounts. Personally visits each customer and is responsible for understanding and implementing the Coca-Cola Collaborating for Value Selling principles to improve sales results for both the customer and the company. Account Developer-Large Store (AD-LS) The sales rep assigned to large store accounts (grocery). Account Developer-Small Store (AD-SS) The sales rep assigned to small store accounts (convenience, value, & drug).l Accumulation Table Device (table) that accumulates an overflow of finished product off a production line during a temporary failure in the packaging process. Active Lifestyle Beverages (ALB) Beverages for health and wellness (ex. Dasani, VitaminWater, Smart Water). Activity Based Costing (ABC) Usually refers to costing method that breaks down overhead costs into specific activities (cost drivers) in order to more accurately distribute the costs in product costing. Has also been applied to customer and vendor management. Ad Card The Point of Sale (POS) space on most vending machines. Specifically promotes a beverage sold in the machine other than the beverage advertised on the machine itself. Ad Feature A price promotion supported by some form of media advertising (ex. newspaper ad). Adjusted Operating Income (AOI) Selling price minus cost of goods, minus any funding paid to the customer. Advanced Selling A sales and distribution system where a CCBCC sales representative contacts each customer in advance of the product delivery and solicits the order.

Advanced Shipment Notification (ASN) Used to notify a customer of a shipment. ASN systems are usually combined with bar-coded compliance labeling which allows the customer to receive the shipment into inventory through the use of bar-code scanners and automated data collection systems. Air Rinser The machine that sprays deionized air inside of empty cans & bottles so that a vacuum can remove any interior micro-particles prior to filling with product. Allocations Used in inventory management and refers to actual demand created by sales orders or work orders against a specific item.

Standard Allocation is an aggregate quantity of demand against a specific item in a specific facility; does not specify that specific units will go to specific orders. Firm Allocation is an allocation against specific units within a facility.

Ammonia A pungent, colorless, gaseous, alkaline compound of nitrogen and hydrogen (NH2) that is very soluble in water. Used as a refrigerant in the production process. Angle Bottle A style, or design, of a plastic bottle. The bottle is angled from the neck to the body. Area Sales Manager (ASM) Leadership role responsible for coaching & developing a team of front line supervisors & managers to achieve local & company goals. Aspartame An artificial sweetener sold under the retail name Nutra-sweet. Assessment Process An organized evaluation of employees or candidates skills, abilities, and background in order to assist the employee's personal development or in some cases to make a selection decision. Assay The measurement of the amount of Phosphate Acid in a beverage. Asset See Equipment. Automated Clearing House (ACH) An authorization form signed by the customer to allow direct deposit of full service commission checks directly into the customer’s bank account. Eliminates paper checks. Backflush Method for automatically issuing material when production is posted against an operation.

Backhaul Transportation term that describes the activity of picking up, transporting, and delivering a new load on a return trip from delivering another load. Bag in the Box (BIB) A cardboard box with a plastic bag insert containing beverage syrup. This concentrated raw syrup is combined with CO2 and water to make finished product at the location where it is sold through the beverage fountain. See Postmix. Bailer Machine used to compress recyclable cardboard. Banner Large signs used both inside and outside accounts to advertise products and/or promotions. It usually has ropes on each end so it can be tied to gas pumps, sign posts, & fences. It is a form of Point-of-Sale (POS). Bar Code See Universal Product Code. Base Wrap Point-of-Sale (POS) material used to wrap around the bottom of displays to hide a pallet and/or to make the display more visually appealing. Batch Picking Order picking method is where orders are grouped into small batches; an order picker will pick all orders within the batch in one pass. Beverage Air (Bev Air) A manufacturer of refrigerated coolers. Beverage Aisle The primary aisle designated for soft drinks in a retail store. Often includes multiple feet of shelf space or a series of racks. Beverage Section The area in a retail store designated for beverages. Beverage Set Allocation and arrangement of brands and packages in the beverage section. Bill of Lading (BOL) An itemized list of a trailer's cargo. Bill of Material (BOM) Lists materials (components or ingredients) required to produce an item.

Bill Validator See Validator. Blending The process of mixing the ingredients of each beverage brand. Also refers to the department within production facilities that mixes the ingredients of each flavor together. Blind Counts Describes method used in cycle counting and physical inventories where you provide the counters with item number and location but no quantity information. Blind Spot Locations in a retail outlet where consumers do not normally look. Also refers to the area in a vehicle where a driver cannot see adjacent vehicles in the mirrors. Blind Shipment A direct shipment (drop shipment) where the source of the supplier is hidden from the customer. Also known as blind load or blind drop ship. Bolt Bottle A style of a 20-ounce plastic bottle used for specific products. Bottle Erector Stick A custom made tool used to upright fallen bottles in vertique warehouse operations. Bottles per Minute (BPM) A measure of production operating speed of bottle equipment. Branch See Sales Center. Brand A beverage flavor. Brand Code A unique number code assigned to each flavor. Part of the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU). Brand Order The order, or flow, in which our brands (flavors) are merchandised on shelves, racks, displays, coolers, etc. Breakage Damaged bottles or cans. Break-bulk Breaking down larger quantities (full pallets) of product into smaller batches (partial pallets). Used in locations with lower volume sales of specific products to reduce the potential of that product going out-of-date.

BRIX A measurement of the amount of sugar suspended in a liquid. A quality control measurement of the ratio of sugar to water in a batch of soft drink. The Density Meter is used to measure the BRIX in a beverage. Build To stack full goods on a pallet. Bulk Delivery Delivery to high volume customers, typically supermarkets and club stores, where the delivery driver unloads pallet load quantities of product at the store. A separate merchandiser is then responsible for merchandising the product. Bulk Merchandiser (BM) Employee who merchandises our products in assigned grocery store accounts. Also responsible for building relationships with store personnel and providing excellent customer service. Bulk Presell Manager (BPM) Employee who sells, orders, and merchandises our products in assigned grocery store accounts. Also responsible for building relationships with store personnel and providing excellent customer service. Bumper Shroud A specific Point of Sale (POS) item for the area where gas pumps are located. Also known as Pump Toppers. Business Intelligence (BI) The business warehouse/reporting tool connected part of SAP. Buy One, Get One (BOGO) Retailer offer to purchase one item and get another of that same item for free. Buy-In Purchase of additional inventory by a retailer at a discounted level prior to a wholesale price increase. Can Body The main (product holding) portion of an aluminum container. Can End or Can Lid The top (sealing) portion of an aluminum container that is crimped onto the can body. Cap The tamper resistant plastic bottle caps used to seal plastic bottles. Also called closures. Cap Hopper Large holding unit where closures are warmed prior to be fed to the capper. Capacity Planning Requirements Process for determining amount of machine and labor resources required to meet production. Capper Head Equipment used to attach caps to bottles.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) A colorless gas, which when dissolved in water, produces carbonation. Used to carbonate soft drinks, energy drinks, and can power the lift of CooLift pallet jacks. Also used to force the proper flow of product in a pressurized syrup (pre-mixed) fountain tank system. If CO2 leaks in a confined space it can cause asphyxia (lack of oxygen), therefore, CO2 cannot be transported in enclosed cabs or vehicles. Carbonated Soft Drink (CSD) (Sparkling Beverages) Beverages made with CO2. Also called Soda or Sparkling Beverage. Carbonation Level of CO2 in soft drinks. Carrying Cost The cost associated with having inventory on hand. Also called holding cost. Carton Cardboard carrier for cases of product. Also called tray. Case How we sell products (by the case). The number of units in a case varies by package. Case Packer A machine that accumulates and inserts product into a cardboard box or plastic shell (crate). Case Picking Process where cases are picked for orders. Castle Crate A nesting-type shell (crate) used for 2-liter bottles. Caustic A very high PH substance. Caustics are used to clean and sanitize equipment and materials for production. Caustics can burn if it comes in contact with skin. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used when handling caustics. Chafing To become worn by rubbing. Chain Customer Multiple accounts under the same ownership, generally with the same name and a central management structure, selling similar merchandise and following a uniform store set up. Chameleon Vendor A type of landscape (stack) vending machine with large labels over the selection buttons that are located in the center of the machine.

Channel Strips POS specific for the space (channel) on a rack or shelf. Channels A sub-set of Super Channels, it is a specific group of similar accounts within a larger group (Ex: chain convenience stores verses independent convenience stores). Clean In Place (CIP) Internal sanitation procedure for blending and production equipment. Cling See Static Cling. Closures See Cap. Club Coke Account Manager Sales Rep responsible for independent convenient stores in a specific territory. Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated (CCBCC) Who we work for- the largest (and best) independent bottler in the US! Corporate offices in Charlotte, NC. Also called Coke Consolidated or just Consolidated. Coca-Cola North America (CCNA) The North American division of the Coca-Cola Company. Coca-Cola Refreshments (CCR) The largest bottler in the Coke system. Is majority-owned by The Coca-Cola Company. Cold Carton Merchandiser (CCM) A refrigerated cooler used to merchandise and sell our products. Also called cooler. Coca-Cola System The Company and its bottling partners. Coca-Cola United States of America (CCUSA) A division of CCNA. COKE Stock Ticker symbol for Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated. Coke One North America (CONA) Operating system being implemented across bottlers in North America. Term is also used to identify sales centers already using this system.

Cold Bottle See Cold Drink. Cold Carton Merchandiser (CCM) A refrigerated cooler used to merchandise and sell our products. Also called a cooler. Cold Drink One of the on premise super channels. Includes hospitals, recreation locations, schools, work, fitness, arenas, movie theaters, etc. Also called Cold Bottle. Cold Vault Upright glass door cooler that is built into the wall and used for merchandising cold product. Also used to store back stock of cold product. Collect on Delivery (COD) Customer pays Cash or Check at the time of the delivery. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) A driver's license required in the United States to operate any type of vehicle. Weighing 26,001 pounds, or 10,001 pounds with any type of trailer towed. Computer-Based Training (CBT) Any training conducted on the computer. Computer Aided Selling (CAS) The computer systems/technology used in the field by sales personnel in CONA locations. Computer Aided Ordering (CAO) System used by specific customers to create orders based on the store’s own scan data. Concentrate Also called syrup. The Coca-Cola Company produces and sells concentrate to bottlers, who mix in additional ingredients (ex. sugar, water, carbonation) to create a consumable beverage. Concentrate Yield The calculation of how effectively concentrate was used in creating full product. The closer the yield is to 100%, the better. Consolidated Application & Posting System (CAPS) The online application we use to post any open positions in the company (and where employees go to apply for any open positions). Consolidated Management System (CMS) System for monitoring compliance with food and safety regulations. Consumer Anyone who drinks beverages.

Contour Bottle The proprietary Coca-Cola trademark bottle. Applies to both glass and plastic bottles. Conventional Route Sales A bottler distribution system where the delivery person is responsible for all sales, delivery and merchandising activities in assigned accounts. Coolers See Cold Carton Merchandiser (CCM). CooLift (CL) The delivery system using special pallets & pallet jacks to deliver customer specific orders on a rear load truck. Core Brands The primary sparkling brands (Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Sprite, Mello Yello, Fanta Orange) included in all displays, shelf sets, CCM’s and vending machines. Could also include Dr. Pepper or Sun Drop in markets where we sell those products. Coroplast Signs POS made of thick, cardboard-like material. Can be used inside or outside. Often large in size and easily viewed from the street or parking lot. Corrective Work Order Work order used to request and perform repairs on a piece of equipment. Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) Cost of goods sold (COGS) are the direct costs attributable to the production of the goods sold by a company. This amount includes the cost of the materials used in creating the goods along with the direct labor costs used to produce the goods. Crate A case container usually made of plastic. Also called Shell. Cross-docking The action of unloading materials from an incoming trailer or rail car and immediately loading these materials in outbound trailers or rail cars, thus eliminating the need for warehousing (storage). Could be modified to mean the action of unloading materials into a large staging area (warehouse) where materials are then sorted, consolidated, and stored until the outbound shipment is complete and ready to ship. This staging may take hours, days, or even weeks. Crown A metal bottle cap used on glass bottles. Cube Utilization In warehousing and logistics, cube utilization refers to the use of space within storage area, trailer, or container. Cube utilization is generally calculated as a percentage of total space or of total usable space.

Cubed Out Describes a condition where all space in a trailer or container has been completely filled. The term cubed out is often used when you have completely filled the trailer or container but are still below the weight capacity. Cubic Velocity Warehouse term that measures the volume (cubic feet/cubic inches) that moves out of a location during a predefined period of times (days, weeks, etc.). This is primarily used with picking locations, so you would multiply the average units sold during a period by the cube of each unit to determine the cubic velocity. Current Cost Inventory costing method that applies the cost of the most recent receipt to all inventory of a specific item. Customer The purchaser of our products. Some customers then sell the products to consumers. Also called Account or Outlet. Customer Care Center (CCC) Our customer service department. Located in Charlotte, NC, it includes the equipment repair dispatchers and inside sales representatives. Customer Care Consultants (CCC) The representatives in the Customer Care Center. Also called Inside Sales Representatives or Tel Sell. Customer Development Manager (CDM) Sales Rep who is responsible for specific chains or groups of customers. Customer Information Control System (CICS) A computer system in Legacy locations with customer information (name, address, phone, etc.) and customer reports. Customer Marketing (or Master) Agreement (CMA) A written and signed contract with a customer. Customer Master System (CMS) A computer system in Legacy locations with customer data (address, phone, delivery hours, etc.). Customer Service Solutions (CSS) The process used in the Customer Care Center to notify reps and track resolution of issues with customers that they cannot resolve over the phone. Damages Damaged packages that cannot be sold until being repacked. Dangler Type of Point-of-Sale (POS) that is designed to move with air current and is hung from the ceiling. Data EXchange (DEX) The process of uploading information from one source to another. Consolidated employees plug handhelds into a customer’s source for information and download sales information.

Date Code Printed on every unit we sell, it is the last day a product can be consumed with guaranteed taste freshness. Day-Glo Labels A specific Point of Sale (POS) that is self-adhesive and usually bright colored, attached directly to the product. Dead Net Gross Profit (DNGP) Selling price minus cost of goods and all discounts. Dealer Loader A gift or premium item given to a store owner or manager, often in support of a promotion or display. Delivery Merchandiser (DM) Representative who has a CDL, delivers product, and merchandises the delivered product in the outlet. Depalletizer (or “Depal”) An automated machine that unstacks product, raw materials or cases from a pallet of goods. Depalletize To separate items and remove items from the pallet on which they were received. Department of Transportation (DOT) The governmental department under whose regulations all commercial vehicles over 26,001 lbs. operate. Deposit Items A term used for items that are returned to the production facility and can be used again in the production process. (Castle crates, shells, trays, pallets, etc.) Direct Ship A process whereby three parties interact with the sales transaction (the buyer, the seller, and the supplier). The buyer initiates a purchase from the seller, the seller then contacts the supplier, and the supplier ships the product directly to the buyer. Direct Store Delivery (DSD) How we deliver - direct to the customer. (we do not deliver to a customer's warehouse for them to ship to all the locations in their chain.) Dispatchers See Equipment Repair Dispatchers. Display Point of interruption (POI) inventory that is incremental to the standard beverage location. Primarily used to increase sales by supporting advertisements, promoting products, and/or promoting special events. Distended Shape A swollen or expanded PET bottle. Distribution A process whereby product is moved from a producing or warehousing location to the retail or other type of customer.

Distribution Center See Sales Center. District Sales Manager (DSM) Sales manager responsible for a team of Account Developers. Dixie Narco One of the two manufactures of most of our vending machine. Royal is the other. Dock Leveler Device that provides a bridge from the dock to the trailer and/or serves as a ramp to facilitate the transition in height from dock to trailer. Dollar Validator See Validator. Door Cling See Static Cling. Double Door CCM A large cooler with two-doors. General dimensions are 79”H x 54”W x 32”D. Double-Wide Forklift A forklift with dual masts capable of independently handling two separate pallets in a side by side manner. Download The process during which information is electronically fed from the central computer to individual devices throughout the company. Downtime Production time lost to a particular piece of equipment not running. Drop and Hook When a truck driver rolls down landing gear to drop the trailer being delivered and immediately hooks up to the next trailer to transport. Drop ship See Direct Ship. Dry Outlet A location which does not purchase products from us, but logically could do so. Dunnage Fill material. Types of dunnage include loose fill such as packing peanuts, paper, bubble wrap, foam, and air pillows. Easitrax A predictive sales and distribution computer systems specific to Full Service Vending.

Economic Value Assessment (EVA) A Microsoft Excel document primarily used to evaluate actual and/or potential profit in an account from year-to-year. Eight Ounce Equivalents Number of ounces in a package divided by 8. Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Used to electronically exchange data such as purchase order (PO) details and advanced shipment notifications (ASN). End Cap A display, or permanent rack, located at the end of an aisle. End of Day (EOD) Reports, processes, and/or procedures completed at the end of the workday. End of Month (EOM) Reports, processes, and/or procedures completed at the end of each month. End of Run The process of ending a production run. Equipment Owned by CCBCC and used by customers for the purpose of merchandising and selling our products. (Coolers, fountains, vending machines, etc.) Also called an asset. Equipment Move Order (EMO) Process for placement, removal or movement of any asset or equipment. Also called Work Order. Equipment Repair Dispatchers (ERD) A Customer Care Center employee who receives incoming calls for equipment repair and assigns/dispatches those requests to the technicians in the field. Equipment Reutilization Solutions (ERS) Our subsidiary company that refurbishes coolers, vending machines, and fountains. Equipment Service Technician The employee dispatched to repair our equipment at a customer’s location. Also called a Tech. Equipment Services The department that oversees our equipment refurbishment, equipment installation, and equipment repair. Execution The performance of work activities as specified by standards established by the company. Facing Turning all products available for purchase so the consumer can see the largest trademark logo. The UPC symbol is generally to the left of the primary logo.

Facings The number of rows of product units in a merchandised area. Fast Lane Merchandiser (FLM) A CCM located near the register in a retail outlet. Also called Front End Merchandiser. Figal See Tank. Fill rate Sales order processing measurement that quantifies the ability to fill orders. Usually expressed as a percentage. In Full Service vending, the amount of product needed to fill the machine compared to capacity of the machine. Filler Production machine used to fill the bottles and cans with product. Filling Height Uniform height to which each size of bottles & cans are filled. First In, First Out (FIFO) Refers to rotation procedures- the first products brought into a location should be positioned so that they will be the first products purchased and/or consumed (since they will go out of date first.) First Position Refers to the first location shopped by consumers shopping in the normal traffic flow when more than one manufacturer’s products are merchandised adjacent to one another. This applies to the beverage section, cold vault, vending machines, displays, and merchandising equipment. Flats Material used to group and pack cases. Could be a cardboard or plastic crate/container. Flavor Changeover The process of completing the production of one brand and beginning production of a different brand on the same line. Fleet Our trucks/vehicles. Also refers to the maintenance support staff for our trucks/vehicles. Flow Rack Racking system that allows product units, cartons, or pallets to slide to the front of the rack. Stocking is performed from the rear of the rack. Food Service (FS) Refers to customers who serve food as their primary business purpose (restaurants). Food Service on Premise (FSOP) One of the two categories to which all accounts are assigned. FSOP customers primarily sell packages designed for immediate consumption. Ex. Full Service Vending, Restaurants, Full Line Operators, Amusement/Rec, Hospitals, Schools, etc.)

Forecast An estimation of future demand. Most forecasts use historical demand to calculate future demand. Adjustments for seasonality, trends, and upcoming promotions & sales are often necessary. Forecast Error The difference between the forecast quantity for a period and the actual demand experienced during that period. Forecast error is calculated after the period has passed and is used to evaluate the forecast and make adjustments for the future. Foreign Product Competitive or non-CCBCC products in or on our equipment. Forward Pick Location These are locations in a warehouse used specifically for order picking. When you use forward pick locations it is assumed that you also have reserve storage locations. Fountain Equipment used by retail outlets to dispense product into cups or glasses for immediate consumption. Front End Merchandiser (FEM) See Fast Lane Merchandiser (FLM) Fronting Refers to moving all of the product to the front of the shelf where it is more easily seen and selected by the consumer. Fulfillment The process of managing product flow and inventory. Full Goods Cases of finished product. Full Goods Label A bar-code label placed on pallets of full goods to track the pallet's movement throughout the warehouse. Full Goods Label Applicator The machine that applies the full goods label. Full Line Operator (FLO) A customer that buys from many distributors and resells to consumers. Also called Independent Venders or Third Party Venders. Full Service Vending (FSV) Refers to vending machines where the CCBCC delivery merchandiser fills, services, and collects the money from the machine on a regular basis. Future Consumption (FC) Product packages generally purchased to be consumed at a later time (fridge packs, 2-Liters, etc.)

Glaceau A company that is owned by The Coca-Cola Company. Makers of VitaminWater and SmartWater. Glass Front Vender (GFV) A beverage vending machine where the beverages are visible to the consumer. Glide An insert, often made of plastic that fits on top of a shelf to keep beverages in neat rows. Glue Pattern Amount and location of glue droplets placed on a label or case. Gondola Used in retail outlets to display product for purchase, generally in four-foot increments. Also called shelves Gravity Conveyor Types of conveyor that use gravity to move materials. Gross Margin (GM) Represents the percent of total sales revenue that the company retains after incurring the direct costs associated with producing the goods and services sold. Gross Margin with Average Cost (GMwAC) Reflects GM with an averaged transportation cost (so sites further from the production facilities are not penalized for their distance). Gross Profit The dollar amount of profit on a case or on an individual unit. Hand Build Refers to a pallet that was built one case at a time with no mechanical assistance. Handheld Device used by field personnel to record and print information on all products loaded on trucks, access customer information, key in load requests, record customer activity, settle accounts, and transmit data. Handtruck A portable two-wheeled cart used to transport cases of product. Hi-Cone A thin, flexible plastic piece that connects together multiple units of the same product for sale as one multi-pack. Also called Ringers. High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) Sugar used to sweeten most of our non-diet beverages. High Jaws An attachment to a forklift truck in the warehouse used to grasp full layers of the same product off a pallet at one time.

Home Market (HM) One of the two categories to which all accounts are assigned. Home Market accounts usually sell both future consumption and immediate consumption packages. (ex. grocery stores, convenience stores, value retail stores, chain drug stores, & club stores.) Housekeeping Refers to keeping all merchandising equipment clean, sales & backroom area uncluttered, and damaged product removed. Immediate Consumption (IC) Packages designed for be consumed immediately upon purchase - generally single units sold cold. Impulse Buy Purchases made by a consumer in a retail outlet that are not planned before the consumer sees the product or POS materials. Incidence The number of times a consumer purchases a Coca-Cola product at an account. Incremental Display An extra or additional display of our products in a retail outlet. Independent Vender See Full Line Operator. Individual Development Plan (IDP) A formalized strategy for an individual's development. Information Systems & Services (ISS) Department responsible for supporting the company’s electronic devices and the users of these devices. Information Technology (IT) Department responsible for providing and maintaining electronic devices. Ink Concentrate The liquid mixed with make-up ink and then used to print product codes. Inside Sales Representative The sales representatives in the Customer Care Center. Also called Tel Sell or Customer Care Consultant. Installer Person (or crew) that delivers and installs our equipment at a customer’s location. In-Store Promotion Price or other type of promotion that is not advertised outside of the retail outlet. Interior Aisle Aisles between gondolas within the retail outlet.

Interlocking Method of ensuring display or pallet stability by changing layer patterns of products instead of stacking them straight up and down. Inventory Reconciliation The process of matching up the floor inventory counts to book value of the inventory. Island Display A freestanding display that can be shopped on all sides. Isotonic Beverages A category of non-carbonated (still) beverages. Ex. PowerAde. JDA A leading global provider of supply chain management, planning, optimization and execution solutions and software. Job Performance Review (JPR) The formal job evaluation & review process. Julian Date Coding Product date coding used on products which illustrates the year, day of year, manufacturing plant, production line number, and military time to identify exactly when it was produced which is necessary for stock rotation. Key Business Indicator (KBI) A measure that contributes to achieving a goal. Key Rec # See Purchase Order #. KO The ticker symbol for stock of the Coca-Cola USA Company. Lab Data Management System Data entry program used to maintain Quality Assurance and Production records. Labeler The machine that applies the labels to the PET bottles. Landscape Vending Machine A traditional beverage vending machine. Has labeled buttons indicating the beverages available for purchase, but beverages are not visible to the consumer. Also known as a stack vendor. Large Store (LS) Term used for the Grocery store customers in Home Market. Also called Bulk. LAUNCH CCBCC’s On Boarding plans and materials for employees new to specific roles.

Laydown A hand truck that can be converted to a 4-wheeled tool used to carry merchandise. Leads The name, address and phone number of a prospective customer. Legacy Sales Centers in the CCBCC territory prior to the fall of 2014. Less than Truckload (LTL) Transportation term that describes shipments that are less than a trailer load in size. LTL also is used to describe the carriers that handle these loads. Level-Loading Creating a more consistent output rate that balances different production rates, thus eliminating bottlenecks and minimizing work-in-process inventory. Light Emitting Diode (LED) An illuminated electronic display or lighting system. Line Chase A maintenance function by which a mechanic will spend time on a line assisting operators in maintaining an efficient operation. Line Item A single detail record on sales orders or purchase orders. Line Loading Loading product onto a trailer directly from the production line. Link Computer program in Legacy locations used primarily by the CCC for On Premise customer orders & communication documentation. Listen, Acknowledge, Probe, Restate, Overcome, Close (LAPROC) A model, or steps, to follow to overcome customer objections or complaints. Live Load A term used when drivers are waiting for freight to be loaded onto their trailer. Load In manufacturing, describes the amount of production scheduled against a plant or machine. In warehousing, describes the materials being handled by a piece of equipment. In transportation, describes the materials being transported. Load Number Destination's branch number.

Load Sequence The number assigned to a load. Load Sheet The document that lists a customer's products that need to be loaded on a truck. Load Ticket The document that lists the products to be loaded on a truck. Local Chain Account Manager The sales rep who is responsible for local chain convenience stores in an assigned territory. Location A place of business. Also refers to the position or site occupied by our products and how it relates to the traffic flow. Lockout-Tagout The process of disabling (lockout) and identifying (Tagout) equipment and energy sources during maintenance or service to prevent injury of personnel from an unexpected startup or power up. Look of Success (LOS) Our roadmap of priorities in each account. Details the right packages, right brands, right equipment, right location, and the right messaging! Lost time Production time that is lost when the filler is not running. Low fills Failure to properly fill the bottle or can with enough product during production. Maintenance, Repair, and Operating Inventory (MRO) Inventory used to maintain equipment as well as miscellaneous supplies such as office cleaning supplies. Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII) Process for determining material, labor and machine requirements in a manufacturing environment. Margin Customer profit (retail cost minus their wholesale cost). Margin Minder (MM) A computer program with detailed information on volume, margin, costs, trends, etc. Margin Percentage For the retailer, their profit divided by the retail price. Mark Up The difference between wholesale price to the customer and retail price to customer. Usually expressed in percentages, the difference between the selling price and the cost divided by the cost.

Market Geographic area in which the company and its bottling partners do business, often defined by national boundaries. Also called the trade. Market Unit (MU) A group of Sales & Distribution Centers in a defined geographic area. Master Data Management (MDM) Computer program used in CONA locations for creating new accounts, equipment work order requests, and fountain install forms. Master Production Schedule (MPS) Production schedule specifying specific items, quantities, and dates at which production is expected to take place. Master Sponsorship Agreement (MSA) Written and signed contract with a customer, primary used with On Premise customers. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) Information provided by manufacturers of any material which could be hazardous to handle. Merchandiser Application Resource System (MARS) The hand held device used by Bulk Merchandisers. Merchandising To promote for sale. Includes all the in-store actions necessary to promote sales (rotating, stocking, building displays, facing & fronting, cleaning, etc.) Mercury The handheld computer system/technology used in the field by delivery personnel in Legacy locations. Mixed Load A load received with more than one deposit item on the trailer. Mobile Application Xpress (MAX) Computer program used in Legacy locations for creating new accounts, equipment work order requests, and fountain install forms. Mom & Pop Independently-owned neighborhood food stores. Often a convenience-like store. Movement Sheet Forms used to track product being moved from one account to another. Movilizer The handheld computer system/technology used in the field by delivery personnel in CONA locations. Multi-Pack A package that contains more than one can or bottle grouped together for consumers to purchase as one item.

Neck The narrow upper portion of the bottle located below the opening. Neck Ringer Advertisement and/or coupon that hangs around the neck of a bottle. Nesting A term used to describe items that when stacked fit together in such a way to reduce the overall height. Net Price Wholesale price minus any discounts. Nielsen A company that provides survey data on market share of particular products and brands. Non-Carbonated Beverage (NCB) Products without carbonation. Also called Still Beverages or Non-Carbs. Non-Returnable (NR) Disposable beverage container. All of our packages are NR; however, we do support and promote recycling. Nutra-Sweet The brand name for aspartame which is a sweetener for diet drinks. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) The federal agency that regulates industrial working conditions and environment from a safety and health prospective. Off Cycle Delivery to a customer outside of our usual frequency of deliveries. On Premise (OP) One of the two categories to which all accounts are assigned. On Premise customers primarily sell packages designed for immediate consumption. For example, Full Service Vending, Restaurants, Full Line Operators, Amusement/Rec, Hospitals, Schools, etc. Also called Food Service on Premise (FSOP). On Premise Sales Representative (OPSR) The sales representative assigned to all existing on premise accounts within a geographic territory and also seeks to gain new customers within the same territory. Proactively visits accounts, responds to customer opportunities, and handles customer issues within their territory. On-the-Job Training (OJT) Training conducted in the usual work environment and in the usual working conditions. Open Top Cooler Stand-alone, refrigerated unit that opens from the top for merchandising cold product. Operating Margin Calculated by dividing operating income by net operating revenues.

Optimum Date The expiration date of a product according to quality age standards which is printed on the product. Order Fulfillment System (OFS) The delivery system using 3x3 pallets & pallet jacks to deliver customer specific orders on a rear load truck. Orientation Period The first ninety (90) days of employment. Out Of Date (OOD) Beyond the expiration date on the unit or package - should not be sold to consumers Out of Stock (OOS) Product is one that we sell, but currently do not have in inventory. Outlet Any location where our products are sold. Also called Account or Customer. Pack Out Total cases of a specific package that is necessary to fill the space that is allocated to it. Package The details and manner in which our products are grouped together for sale. Package Code A unique number code assigned to each package. Part of the Stock Keeping Unit (SKU). Package Mix The percent of total case sales or total inventory by each package type. Package Set The way beverage packages are grouped on shelves, racks, displays, etc. Package Size Changeover The procedure by which the size/shape of the container being filled with product is changed on the production line. Adjustments to line machinery, conveyors and machine component exchange are necessary to complete this process. Pallet A wooden or plastic platform on which cases of product are stacked for transport and storage. Pallets are deposit items. Pallet Stacker Mechanism on the depalletizer that stacks empty pallets after the products are removed. Pallet Ticket See Rack Card. Palletizer The machine used to stack full goods on a pallet.

Parts Room That area of the plant where all spare and replacement parts for machinery as well as supplies used by the work force are stored. Per Capita Consumption Average number of 8 oz. servings consumed per person, per year in a specific market divided by the population in that market. Percent Delivered Number of cases that were delivered to customers divided by the number of cases that were ordered for the same customers. Percent Served The amount of customers who received their delivery divided by the number of customers scheduled for delivery. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Items worn for personal safety. Physical Inventory Refers to the process of counting all inventory in a warehouse or plant. Planning Revenue Growth Management (PRGM) Department responsible for creating and analyzing our pricing strategy and plans. Planogram (POG) A picture or description of the location of equipment, barrels, racks, etc. within an account. Also used to describe a picture or description of a beverage set in a cooler, beverage section, or cold vault. Point of Interruption/Point of Inspiration (POI) Any location in the outlet where our products are available for purchase. Point of Sale (POS) Materials that communicate a message to consumers for the purpose of increasing sales. Most often used to communicate prices and/or promotions, and is an element of the Look of Success (LOS). Pole Sign One or two-sided cardboard POS attached to a pole that is usually mounted on top of a display or rack. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) The type of recyclable plastic used in plastic bottles. Position The location of our products in the beverage section & in cold vaults, as well as the location of our merchandising equipment such as displays, racks, coolers, & vending machines, in relation to the competition. First Position is desired.

Postmix A cardboard box with a plastic bag insert containing beverage syrup. This concentrated raw syrup is combined with CO2 and water at the customer’s location to make a finished beverage, where it is then sold through a beverage fountain. See Bag in a Box (BIB). Predictive Selling A sales and distribution system specific to Full Service Vending. The system predicts the frequency and the quantity by brand that machine will need based on what has sold in the past. Premix An individual tank containing a large quantity of finished beverage, which is sold individually through a beverage fountain. PreSell Product ordered ahead of the next scheduled delivery. Preventive Maintenance (PM) Regularly scheduled inspection and maintenance of equipment to prevent breakdowns. Price Clip POS specifically to communicate pricing. Attaches to a glide. Also called a Shelf Clip. Price Disk Specific static cling POS that is attached to a cooler door to clearly communicate the price of a specific package. Shape is usually round. Price Sticker Self-adhesive price label. Placed at the coin insert area of vending machines or attached directly to individual product units with a price gun. Primary Code The Date Code printed on the neck of bottled product. Prime Location The very best location in an account for displays, racks, vending machines, coolers, etc. where a majority of customers would see and/or pass by early in the shopping experience. Private Label Any product sold by a retailer under their brand name. Product Age Standards The length of time after production that product quality is guaranteed. Also called Shelf Life. Product Changeover The procedure by which the flavor of syrup is changed on the production line. Product Code An internal item number specifying all of the package and brand combinations that we sell. Specific digits identify the package and then the brand. See Stock Keeping Unit (SKU).

Product Reclaim Tank Tank which collects product overflow. Product Recovery System (PRS) Tank which collects usable product that is out of specification to be metered into product that is within specification. Profit Margin Gross profit expressed as a percentage of retail on a case unit. Pull-up The restocking of shelves using product that is in the back room of an account. Pungent A strong brand (flavor) that would have taste carry over in production lines without a detailed cleaning. Purchase Order Number (PO#) The number some customers are required to provide us to indicate that their system is prepared to pay us. Also called Key Rec. Quality Assurance (QA) The department that initiates, measures, and enforces specified high standards of product control. Quality Control (QC) The department that evaluates adherence to our quality standards and policies. Rack Merchandising fixture for displaying products. Rack Card The paper ticket that lists the case quantity for each SKU on that pallet. Also called Pallet Ticket. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) The device attached to an object that transmits data to an RFID receiver. Used instead of a barcode when the ability to hold more data or the ability to change the stored data is needed, or in harsh environments where bar code labels won't work. Raw Materials Ingredients and packaging materials used to produce the product. Raw Material Yield The statistic that measure how efficiently raw materials were converted into full goods. Rear Load Trucks Refers to trucks that are loaded from the rear and have lift gates. Rebates See Special Departmental Funding (SDF).

Red Classic Transit (RCT) Our subsidiary company - is a transportation brokerage service that matches companies that wish to ship goods with trucking companies that move goods. Refurb Department that refurbishes equipment (vending machines, fountain units, etc.) Regional Operations Center (ROC) A large vend center that is centrally located to support vend centers with equipment. Registration The mark on the label where the label should be cut and aligned. Reset Re-arrangement of brands, packages, equipment, and/or shelving in an account. Retail Price Price that the customer charges a consumer. Reward Based Compensation (RBC) A pay system of base pay plus additional compensation for achieving or exceeding numeric goals. Rework Process in the warehouse where good product that is in damaged packages are re-grouped into a complete case to be sold. Ribboning Merchandising the same brand in different packages vertically up and down on the shelves, which creates the visual impression of vertical brand continuity. Ribboning (or striping) also refers to merchandising a specific brand in a row from front to back of a display, rack or even in the back room. Right Execution Daily (RED) The daily expectations of employees. Right Execution Daily (RED) Ride Day that a manager spends on-the-job with a direct or indirect report for the purposes of coaching, teaching, & training. Often completes RED Surveys during the RED Ride. Right Execution Daily (RED) Surveys The measurement tool for each employee, and for each account, against our LOS objectives. Rotation The continuous action of moving older product to the front (or top) and newer product to the back (or bottom). Applies to pallets in warehouses, to individual units on the sales floor in the outlet, and to cases in the back stock of the

Route The course that an employee follows to service the accounts assigned to them for that day. Route Planning The department that plans the order of the stops on the route of each delivery merchandiser. Must take into consideration the time of day that each customer will accept deliveries, as well as the location of each customer and the volume that the truck will hold in order to plan each route. Route Truck A specifically designed truck used for delivering beverages. Royal One of the two manufacturers of most of our vending machines. Dixie Narco is the other. Safety stock Quantity of inventory used in inventory management systems to allow for deviations in demand or supply. Sales Center A CCBCC location where sales and delivery functions originate. Also called Branch. Sales Force Automation (SFA) The computer systems/technology used in the field by sales personnel in Legacy locations. Scheduler The person who calls the customers to arrange the installation, removal, or movement of our equipment that was requested in a work order. Score Cards Visual depiction of measurable goals, and the progress towards meeting those goals. Seamer The machine that places and seals a can lid onto the can body. Secondary Code The Date Code printed on the closure (cap) of bottled product. Secondary Display A display of product apart from the regular beverage section not mandated by contract. See Incremental Display. Serving Eight U.S. fluid ounces of a beverage. Set A picture or description of the beverage packages and brands to be merchandised in a cooler, shelf, display, rack, cold vault, etc.

Settlement The process of insuring that all products are accounted for either by invoice, cash, or check. Share of the Market Percentage of the total beverage market by category. Shelf See Gondola. Shelf Clips See Price Clip. Shelf Life See Product Age Standards. Shelf Talker Specific POS designed to be attached to a shelf. Shell See Crate. Shoppability Refers to how accessible product on a display, rack, shelf, etc. is to consumers. Also can refer to the accessibility (location) of equipment. Shoulder The portion of the bottle between the neck and body. Shrink Product that is not sellable and must be disposed of due to being damaged or out of date. Shrink Wrap A thicker plastic wrap used to secure some cases that are not packaged in crates, or a thinner plastic wrap used to secure cases stacked on a pallet. Shrinkage The difference between what products should be in inventory and what is actually present. Side Load Trucks Trucks that have large, roll-up style bay doors on the side for product to be loaded and delivered. Simplification, Prioritization, Accountability, Recognition, Celebration (SPARC) SPARC Awards are given for performance above and beyond. A skid is similar to a pallet but does not have bottom deck boards Slot The physical space where an item is stored. Slotting The activities associated with optimizing product placement in pick locations in a warehouse. Small Store (SS) Term used for some Home Market customer groups (Convenience Retail, Value, Drug). Snyder Production Center (SPC) CCBCC’s largest production facility. Located in Charlotte, NC. Space The amount of selling area on the store’s shelves, usually expressed in linear feet. Space to Sales (STS) The amount of space allotted to package or brand based on the amount of sales of that package or brand in that account. Sparkling Beverages See Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSD). Special Departmental Funding (SDF) A payment some contracted customers receive based on cases or gallons purchased. Also called Rebates. Speed to Market (STM) The time to execute a promotion, package or brand in the outlet after the initial introduction date. Spot Display One stack of product used for a display. Stack Display A small area where product is placed to create a display. Generally used when space is extremely limited. Stack Vending Machine See Landscape Vending Machine. Standard A criterion published by management that defines acceptable performance in a particular endeavor. Standard Cost Inventory costing method used in manufacturing environments that uses the materials costs in the bill of materials combined with the labor costs (based on standard labor hours and rates per operation) and machine costs in the routing to calculate the cost of the finished or semi-finished item.

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Company procedures which are the guide, or process, to follow for a particular situation or circumstance Static Cling Specific POS primarily attached on coolers & cold vault doors to communicate retail price and/or promotions. Also may be used on vending machines to communicate promotions or promote specific brands. Still Beverages Beverages that are not carbonated. Also called Non-Carbonated Beverages (NCB). Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) An internal item number specifying all of the package and brand combinations that we sell. Specific digits in the SKU identify both the package and the brand. Stock Transport Order (STO) Stock transport order is a special procurement type that a warehouse supervisor uses to transfer a company's goods from one warehouse or plant to another. Straight Load A load of only one SKU. Stretch Wrap A thinner plastic wrap used to secure cases stacked on a pallet. Also called Shrink Wrap. Stretch Wrapper The machine that applies stretch wrap around full goods stacked on a pallet. Super Channel (SC) Our customer categories. Each Super Channel is a category of customers that fall under either Home Market or On Premise. Syrup What we buy from the Coca-Cola Company. We mix the syrup with sweeteners, water, CO2, and package it to be sold to customers. Also called concentrate. Syrup Recovery System (SRS) The tank which holds the syrup reserve. Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) A computer operating system. Tamper Band The plastic ring part of the closure that breaks and remains on the bottle when the closure is twisted off. This ring indicates if the bottle has been opened before. Tank A metal canister containing premix fountain beverage.

T-Comm The term that describes the connection of the handheld unit to the telephone lines to the central computer thus enabling the handheld to send information to the central computer (upload) and to receive information from that computer (download). Tel Sell See Customer Care Center. Test Vend Process in which an employee simulates purchasing product from our vending machine to ensure the machine is working properly. The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) Company that develops and markets brands and sells the syrup to bottlers. Corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Third Party Logistics (3PL) Businesses that provide one or many of a variety of logistics-related services such as public warehousing, contract warehousing, transportation management, distribution management, and/or freight consolidation. Third Party Vender See Full Line Operator (FLO). Tier Sheet Cardboard piece used to separate layers of PET bottles on the pallets of empty bottles. Top Frame Wooden frame on the top of the pallet of empty bottles used to aid in securing the pallet. Torque A turning or twisting force on an object, for example, a bottle cap. Trade See Market. Traffic Flow The primary pattern which consumers travel through a store. Transport Tractor & trailer deliveries used primarily to deliver product to sales centers for re-stocking warehouses. Transportation Management System Category of operations software that may include products for shipment manifesting, rate shopping, routing, fleet management, yard management, carrier management, freight cost management. Universal Product Code (UPC) The code used on consumer packages that can be scanned at the retail check-out counter. Specific numbers identify both the manufacturer and the specific item. Also called Bar Code. Unscheduled Delivery An account that was not scheduled to be serviced, but received service. When describing supplier lead time, variable lead time means that the lead time from the supplier changes based on his current workload and capacity. Within the context of manufacturing, variable lead time means the system calculates lead time based on the run quantity and times (setup time, run time, queue time) set up in the routing. Vend Center The facility that houses our equipment that has been prepared for installation at a specific customer’s location. Vend Strips A brand/package label identifying a specific product in a vending machine. Vender See Full Line Operators (FLO). Vendor A vending machine. Visibility How easily a display is seen by a consumer who follows the normal traffic flow. Volume per Outlet (VPO) The sales volume (in cases) per account. Warehouse Management System (WMS) Computer software designed specifically for managing the movement and storage of materials throughout the warehouse. WMS functionality is generally broken down into the following three operations: Put away, Replenishment, and Picking. The key to these systems is the logic to direct these operations to specific locations based on user defined criteria. WMSs are often set up to integrate with data-collection systems.
