When our mum was a young girl it was not so common to go to restaurants, because eating was considered a special moment to spend with the family at home. They sometimes went out for lunch on Sundays after the Mass, but it was quite unusual and generally there was a special event to be celebrated.

Most of the times they preferred having parties or dinners at their own homes and making dishes and specialities by themselves instead of eating out or buying prepared food.
