Katie’sFried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, corn bread salad, butter beans, fried chicken and banana pudding are just a few of the Southern delicacies you’ll load on your plate at this popular buffet restaurant located in a former textile mill village.

Explorations in Antiquity CenterThe only one of its kind in North America, this center features full-scale archeological reconstructions such as a first century village. Step back into the ancient life of the Middle East in a shepherd’s goat-hair tent, an oasis and ancient tombs.

For those opting for the four-course dinner, be prepared for a meal as educational as it is delicious. Dine in a replica of the Jerusalem Room, similar to one discovered at Pompeii. The Mount Zion Room is a replica of one discovered at Herculaneum. Both of these ancient cities were destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Italy in 79 C.E., and they offer an example of First Century culture.

This tour is BIG on attractions that will “wow” even the most discerning tourists, but pleasingly TINY on your budget. Charm, Southern hospitality and rich experiences await your arrival! We’ll even throw in a FREE step-on guide for each motorcoach!

Hills & Dales EstateThe centerpiece of this 35-acre estate is a beautiful Georgian-Italian style home built in 1916 for textile magnate Fuller E. Callaway and his family. Designed by the noted architectural firm of Hentz & Reid, it is one of the finest historic homes in America today. The home was occupied by two generations of the Callaway family and contains the family’s original furnishings. The formal gardens surrounding the home were created by the original owner of the property, Sarah Coleman Ferrell, prior to the Civil War. The extensive formal boxwood gardens also feature an herb garden, greenhouse, fountains and garden sculpture. Beginning in May 2010, 20 additional rooms on the second and third floors of the home will open for visitor tours.
