    Meeker, Tecumseh, Capitol HillJr. and Sr. High Schools, PaulsValley, Lexington, and graduatedat Tonkawa in 1942. She wentinto nurses training in Tulsa, OK,but after three months, she feltcompelled to go to work at DouglasAircraft in OKC to help in the wareffort. She was one of the early"Rosie the Riveters." At Douglas,she married her boss, and theyhad 31 years together. Betty wenton to complete her educationat Oklahoma City CommunityCollege, then OCU, and finished atOU in Norman when she was 79years young. She worked for FAAin OKC for 26-1/2 years. She wasactive in Oklahoma Bicycle Society,Oklahoma Tennis Association,NARFE and Toastmasters. Shegot her pilot's license and had 220hours in Cessna aircraft. She waspreceded in death by husband,Leland; sons, Evertand Bobby; anddaughter, Susan. She is survivedby son/grandson, Joshua, of thehome; Billy, of Mexico; beloveddaughter-in-law, Donna Wilborn;seven grandchildren and eightgreat-grandchildren. She hadmany friends: Ilene Queton, PatGordon, Jan Comeaux, Sylvia EtRobert Bizal, Jean Baum and manyothers. Betty loved her churchand was a staunch Christian. Herchurch was St. Luke's UnitedMethodist of OKC. She belongedto the Triquetra Sunday SchoolClass. Services will be held atSouth Colonial Chapel, 2 p.m.Monday, April 15, with burial atSunny Lane Cemetery.

    BARTON Deanna, 47, died April10, 2013. The daughter of WinstonEt Jan Barton, Deanna was born onMay 5, 1965, in OKC. She workedin IT Support Dept. at Dell. Sheleaves behind her parents; son,Nicholasetschel;aughter,Alanna Barton; and brother, GregBarton. Services April 13, 2013,at the South Colonial Chapel atVondel L.     mnisters and dancers.This event is all about cel-ebrating the extraordinary con-tribution Indian elders, many ofwhom have never been recog-nized before have had on theirfamlies and the people aroundthem.Edwards said.
