Challenges for Non-Traditional Students

In a recent survey, the following reasons were cited for not completing educational objectives:

30% - Managing commitments (such as balancing work, family and school)

26% - Managing finances13% - Effectiveness (maintaining momentum and

seeing complex projects through to completion)

Only 28% of full-time adult students and only 5% of part-time adult students finish their college studies.

Traditional Team TeachingTwo or more teachers actively share the

instruction of the content and skills in the same classroom at the same time with the same group of students.

Collaborative Team TeachingTeam teachers work together to teach the

Parallel InstructionIn this setting, the class is divided into two

groups and each teacher is responsible for teaching the same material to her/his smaller group. A key feature of Parallel Instruction is that teachers can roam and give students individualized support.

Differentiated Split ClassA class with more than one teacher is divided

into smaller groups according to learning needs. Instructors provide their respective group with the instruction required to meet their learning needs.

Monitoring TeacherOne teacher assumes the responsibility for
