SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Provide college students academic, financial aid assistance and other information relative to student life. Provide individual or group tutorial assistance in the areas of math, writing, science, computer software application and English, based on student need. Supports academic programs by providing student skill techniques, time management and related academic information to students; evaluating students’ academic abilities and skills. Assist students in developing academic plans. Serve as a mentor/advisor to students, providing academic assistance and referral services. Meet with students on a regular basis to monitor progress and attendance. Audits student records and notifies students/potential students of issue within their academic records including transcripts, registration and monitor academic progress. Participate in recruitment activities, college outreach, and career fairs. Coordinates or performs duties associated with the day-to-day operation of the campus. Prepare monthly and annual reports for the Dean of Student Services describing project activities and outcomes. Create and maintain student files. Provide assistance to Faculty and Staff. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: A valid U.S. driver’s license & personal transportation At least one (1) year experience in advising college students from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds or related experience and/or training. Must have excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills. Must be proficient in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite Must have an understanding of Native American History and Culture. Associate of Arts/Associate of Science degree required, Bachelor’s degree in a related area preferred.
