DEVELOPMENT

• Serves as liaison between the Director of Development, staff, and Board members, facilitating communication and providing information

• Assists with overall personnel functioning of Development Department

• Performs a variety of special projects related to museum-related initiatives - Strategic Directions Committee and Nexus

• Oversees the teams responsible for developing and implementing strategies to raise funds for the museum

• Takes direction, instructions, and commands from the amazing Karen Tamez

RENTALS

• Manages all corporate and social external rental events

• Oversees budget for the dept., including advertising, which has generated 50 events this past calendar year

• Effectively communicates with all internal museum depts. and staff to ensure successful events

• Facilitates venue guidelines to ensure that each event runs smoothly and successfully.

• First contact for all private event inquiries, primarily weddings.

• Maintains a symbiotic relationship with caterers, event planners, and all vendors so that the Asian Art Museum remains a top venue choice.

• Assists in the planning and organization of events planned for Jade Circle and Connoisseurs' Council

• Office and Administrative support

• Solicits, renews, and maintains gifts beginning at $3,000 all the way to $100,000+

• Establishes, fosters, and strengthens the connection these donors have to the museum by creating opportunities and experiences that are meaningful for them

• FY06-07: Development has the task of raising $7.6 million or 44% of the operating budget of $17.4 million

• Contributed Income: $5,586,000

• Earned Income: $2,014,064– Membership ($1,514,000)– External Rentals ($500,000)
