‘Casa Toddi’ is a villetta set in 2000 sq metres (1/2 acre) of land set on the hillside across the valley from the ancient village of Fiumefreddo Bruzio. We are 650 ft above sea level. The property is in the locality of ‘Mitisci’ along with 4 other properties which are inhabited by locals.

The property consists of an entrance hallway ground floor separate toilet and separate shower room.

The lounge is 5 x 6 metres and doubles as a 3rd bedroom. It has 2 sets of glazed doors which open onto a balcony. The 3rd window looks out up the valley to Monte Cuccuzzo. (4,964 ft). The room has a single chair and a large ‘L’ shaped leather sofa, which converts into a double bed. There is a large flat screen TV (no stations), a surround sound system, an electric fire and air conditioning. There is an ample supply of DVDs &CDs and a selection of novels and books and maps of Calabria and Southern Italy.

Lounge.

A t the opposite end of the house there is a kitchen/dining room (4 x 5.5 metres). This room has multiple glazed doors which open up onto the terrace. Here there is a dining table complete with seating for 6. There is a gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, Fridge/freezer and a Microwave/Oven. There are facilities for drying and ironing.

The stairs which are outside (as is normal to the area) leading to the 1st floor. Both the ground floor and 1st floor exterior doors can be locked independently.

2nd Bedroom.

The 1st floor consists of 2 bedrooms. Both have their own en-suite shower and toilet facilities. The smaller has a window which looks out onto the garden at the rear of the property. The larger has air conditioning, multiple glazed doors which open onto a balcony and views south across the valley.

Outside there is ample space either to just sit quietly or eat al fresco.

Monte Cuccuzzo from the garden.

There are numerous pretty villages and hill towns in the area. The beaches are very clean, very quiet and with easy access. Try Torremezzo about a mile north of the SS18. L’Ancora is a cafe and supermarket that you will find about 2 kilometres south on the SS18. Local towns are Amantea, Paola. Drive inland to ‘La Silla’ which is the National Park where there are the picturesque lakes of Cecita, Ampollini and Arvo , many small villages and quiet walks. Take the road from Fiumefreddo up to the Cuccuzzo Park where you can walk to the

top of the mountain or picnic amongst the pine forests. The area is ideal for lovers of the countryside and walking and is extremely peaceful. In the village of Fiumefreddo Marina on the coast there is a butchers, greengrocers, post office, tobacconists, fish shop, and a general stores.
