“Say No To DRUG “ Rally Date- 26th January 2017
Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into
effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the
governing document of India. All Indians celebrate this day with extreme
enthusiasm, patriotism and joy. This year, India celebrated its 68th
Republic
Day.
This year, on this auspicious occasion, the “Say No To Drugs” road rally was
organized by “Youth Nation”-Surat. The rally started at about 10:00 am from
SVNIT to Jolly party plot at Udhna-Magdalla road.
To spread awareness on the use of drugs and their prohibition, Youth Nation has
teamed up with various NGO’s, schools and colleges in Surat. More than 100
team members of Youth Nation along with hundreds of college/school students
had taken charge of the city with the goal of a healthy and drug free Surat. This
event was graced by the chairman of the All-India Anti-Terrorist Front
(AIATF), Mr. Maninderjeet Singh Bitta.
Sarvajanik Education Society has been the beacon for development and social
welfare. Being integral and powerful part of SES, Sarvajanik College of
Engineering and Technology has also taken up activities to empower the
society.
Actively participating in such events, NSS, SCET were invited by Youth Nation
to participate in the rally on the 26th January 2017. About 20 volunteers took
part in the rally with enthusiasm and zeal and were also been facilitated with
trophy by the organizers for supporting this noble cause. Hence this event was a
grand success in propagating the message of a ‘Drug Free World’.
