GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR OBJECTIVE TYPE ONLINE TEST
TO THE POST OF EXECUTIVE TRAINEES - 2019
1. कायडपािक प्रशिक्षार्थथयों के पद पर चयन हतेु शवज्ञापन सं पीएण्डए/18(194)/2016-खंड II
ददनांक 03 अगस्त 2019 का संदभड िें।
Refer Advt No. P&A/18(194)/2016-Vol II dated 03 Aug 2019 for Selection to the Post
of Executive Trainees.
2. सभी अशधसूशचत शवषयों में कायडपािक प्रशिक्षार्थथयों के पदों के शिए वस्तुशनष्ठ प्रकार की
ऑनिाइन परीक्षा 26 अकू्तबर 2019 (िशनवार) को दो सत्रों में आयोशित की िाएगी। पात्र
उम्मीदवारों के बुिावा पत्रों पर परीक्षा का समय और स्थान का शववरण ददया िाएगा।
The Objective Type Online test for the posts of Executive Trainees in all the notified
disciplines will be held on 26 October 2019 (Saturday) in two sessions. Details of time and
venue of the test are printed on the call letters for eligible candidates.
3. परीक्षा का समय सुबह की पारी के शिए पवूाडह् न 10.00 से 11.00 बि ेतक और दोपहर की
पारी का समय अपराह् न 1.00 बिे स े2.00 बिे तक ह।ै उम्मीदवारों को परीक्षा कें द्र पर सबुह की
पारी के शिए सबुह 8.30 बि ेऔर दोपहर की पारी के शिए 11.30 बि ेतक ररपोटड करना होगा
और सुबह की पारी के शिए 09.30 बिे और दोपहर की पारी के शिए 12.30 बिे के बाद परीक्षा
कें द्र में प्रवेि करने की अनमुशत नहीं दी िाएगी।
Exam timings are 10.00 am to 11.00 am for Morning Shift and 1.00 pm to 2.00 pm
for Afternoon Shift. Candidates are required to report at the Examination Center by 8:30
AM for Morning Shift and 11:30 AM for Afternoon Shift and WILL NOT BE
ALLOWED to enter the Examination Center after 09:30 AM for Morning Shift and 12:30
PM for Afternoon Shift.
4. उम ्मीदवार यह सशुनशित करें दक वे ऑनिाइन परीक्षा केशिए भाग िनेे स ेपहि ेशवज्ञशपतानसुार
शनधाडररत अपके्षाए ंिैसे दक आय,ु योग ्यता, िाशत, ददव ्यागंिता आदद परूा करत ेहैं ।
Candidates should ensure that they fulfil all the prescribed requirements viz. age,
qualification, caste, disability etc, as advertised before appearing for the online test. 5. वस ्तुशनष ्ठ प्रकार के ऑनिाइन परीक्षा केशिए 21्आक्टूबर्2019 तक् बुिावा पत्रों को उत ्पन ्न
दकया िाएगा । उम ्मीदवार अपने बुिावा पत्र सीएसएि वेबसाइट (कैररयर पृ.) याशन
https://www.cochinshipyard.com/career.htm लिक द्वारा डाउणिॉड दकया िा सकता ह ै । सभी
उम ्मीदवार अपने बुिावा पत्र डाउणिॉड करने केशिए िन ्मशतशथ (दद.मा.व. प्रारूप) के रूप में
पंिीकरण संख ्या और पासवडड प्रशवष ्ट करें । सभी परीक्षा से संबंशधत अनुदेिों को बुिावा पत्र में
शवस ्तृत दकया ह ै। उम ्मीदवारों को बुिावा पत्र में सभी अनुदेिों का पािन करना ह ै।
Call letters shall be generated for candidates for the Objective type Online test by ््््््््््््््््
21 October 2019. The candidates may download their call letters from CSL website (Careers
page) i.e. through the link https://www.cochinshipyard.com/career.htm. All candidates shall
enter their Registration Number and password as date of birth (DDMMYYYY format) to
download their call letter. All test related instructions are detailed in the call letter.
Candidates are to abide by all the instructions in the call letter.

6. कृपया नोट करें दक बुिावा पत्र ई-मेि/डाक द्वारा नहीं भिे ददया िाएगा । सीएसएि वेबसाइट
से बुिावा पत्र डाउणिॉड करने से संबंशधत दकसी भी मामिे में, उम ्मीदवारों को ि ्यादा से ि ्यादा
ददनाकं 23 अक ्तबूर 2019 को ई-मेि [email protected] द्वारा अधोहस ्ताक्षरी सूशचत करना
चाशहए ।
Please note that the call letters will not be sent by e-mail / post. In case of any issues in
download of call letters from CSL website, candidates should inform the undersigned vide
email [email protected] latest by 23 October 2019.
7. उम ्मीदवारों को बुिावा पत्र और एक वैध फोटो पहचान काडड (मूि प्रशत) की दो प्रशतयां
प्रस ्तुत करना चाशहए । ऑनिाइन परीक्षा केशिए केवि सरकार द्वारा िारी पासपोटड/ चुनाव पहचान
काडड/ आधार/ ड्राइलवग िाइसेंस मात्र ही फोटो पहचान सबूत के रूप में स ्वीकार दकया िाएगा ।
बिुावा पत्र और वधै फोटो पहचान काडड प्रस ्ततु न करनवेािे को ऑनिाइन परीक्षा में भाग िने ेहते ु
अनमुशत नहीं दी िाएगी ।
Candidates should produce two copies of the call letter and a valid photo identity
card (in original). ONLY Passport/Election ID Card/ Aadhar / Driving license issued by the
Government, will be accepted as photo identity proof to appear for the online test. Those who
do not produce the call letter and valid photo identity card will not be allowed to appear
for the online test.
8. बुिावा पत्र की एक प्रशत शनरीक्षक को प्रस ्तुत दकया िाना ह ै। उम ्मीदवारों को बुिावा पत्र की
एक प्रशत चयन प्रदकया की पूर्थत तक अपने पास बनाए रखना चाशहए ।
One copy of the call letter is to be submitted to the invigilator. The candidates should
retain the other copy of the call letter, till the completion of selection process.
9. उम ्मीदवार बुिावा पत्र की दोनों प्रशतयों में हाि ही के पासपोटड आकार के फोटोग्राफ िगाना
चाशहए और उशचत स ्थान पर अपना हस ्ताक्षर डाि दनेा चाशहए ।
Candidates should paste recent passport size photographs and put their signature in
appropriate places in both the copies of the call letter.
10. ऑनिाइन परीक्षा 60 शमनट अवशध की होगी शिसमें 60 बहु शवकि ्प प्रि ्न होंग,े शिसमें कुि
60 अकं होंगे । प्रि ्न पत्र का तरीका शनम ्नानुसार हैं :
The online test will be of 60 minutes duration comprising of 60 Multiple-Choice
Questions, carrying a total of 60 marks. The pattern of the Question Paper will be as follows:
a. सामान ्य िानकारी / General Awareness - 5 प्रि ्न/ questions
b. अंग्रेजी भाषा / English Language - 5 प्रि ्न/ questions
c. संख ्यात ्मक क्षमता / Numerical Ability - 5 प्रि ्न/ questions
d. तार्ककक क्षमता / Reasoning Ability - 5 प्रि ्न/ questions
e. शवषय आधाररत / Subject Based - 40 प्रिन / questions
11. उम ्मीदवारों को परीक्षा कक्ष में प्रविे करन ेस ेपहि ेउनके बायोमरेिक कैप ्चर और दिलस्कग
दकया िाएगा । चंूदक मेटर शडटेक ्टरों का उपयोग करते हुए दिलस्कग दकया िाता ह,ै इसशिए परीक्षा में
भाग िेने वािे उम ्मीदवार ररस ्ट वैच/ कोई मेटाशिक/ इिेक ्िोशनक शडवाइज/ कोप ्पर
/अिूशमशनयम/शसि ्वर/कोई ि ्विरी/ सामान/ तार/ सेि बैटरी/ वैच बैटरी/ िघु इिेक ्िोशनक गैिेट/
फोटोवोशटटक उपकरण या इसी तरह की सामग्री को परीक्षा कक्ष के अदंर न िाना सुशनशित करें ।
परीक्षा कें द्रों में उम्मीदवाररों के कीमती सामानरों कर सोंग्रहीत करने की करई सुववधा नही ों हरगी।
सीएसएल परीक्षा कक्ष के बाहर रखे वकसी भी सामान लापता हरने के वलए विमे्मदार नही ों हरगा।
Biometric capture and frisking of candidates will be done prior to their entering the exam
hall. Since the frisking is done using metal detectors, the candidates appearing for the test may
make sure that they DO NOT CARRY wrist watch / any metallic/ electronic devices/ copper/

aluminium/ silver/ any jewellery / accessories / wire/ cell battery/ watch battery/
miniature electronic gadget/ photovoltaic equipment or similar material INSIDE THE
EXAM HALL. The examination centres shall not have any facility to store valuables of
candidates. CSL shall not be responsible for missing of any items kept outside examination
halls.
12. किम / पशेन्सि परीक्षा कक्ष के अदंर ददया िाएगा । उम ्मीदवार द्वारा िानवेािा किम परीक्षा
कक्ष के अदंर ि ेिाने हतेु अनमुशत नहीं दी िाएगी ।
Pens / Pencils will be supplied inside the examination hall. Pens carried by
candidates will not be permitted inside the exam hall.
13. परीक्षा कक्ष में इिेक ्िॉशनक उपकरणों िैसे कैमरा, मोबाइि फोन, माइक्रो फोन या दकसी अन ्य
एसोशसएटेड एक ्ससेरीज, कैिकुिटेर, िॉग टेबि ्स, पिेर, शडशिटि डायरी बकु ्स, अन ्य इिके ्िोशनक
गिैटे आदद का उपयोग सख ्त मना ह ै। यदद दकसी भी उम ्मीदवार के पास इन उपकरणों/ दस ्तावेजों
को पाया गया ह ैतो उसकी उम ्मीदवारी रद्द कर दी िाएगी।
Possession and use of electronic devices such as Camera, Mobile Phone, Micro
Phone or any other Associated Accessories, Calculator, Log Tables, Pager, Digital Diary
Books, Other electronic gadgets etc are strictly prohibited in the Examination Hall. If any
candidate is found in possession of any these devices/ documents his/her candidature is liable
to be cancelled.
14. परीक्षा केशिए ददव ्यांगिन श्रेशणयों से िुडे उम ्मीदवार, िो स ्क्राइब की सेवाएं िते ेहैं, को
परीक्षा केशिए भाग िेने हतेु ददव ्यागंिता के एक वधै प्रमाणपत्र और सीएसएि वेबसाइट पर प्रकाशित
एक घोषणा-पत्र शिसमें अपशेक्षत शववरण भरना ह,ै उसे शनरीक्षक को प्रस ्तुत करने की आवि ्यकता ह ै।
ऐसा न होने पर, उन ्हें परीक्षा केशिए स ्क्राइब की सवेाओं का प्रयोग करने में अनमुशत नहीं दी िाएगी
। शवस ्ततृ अनदुेि और घोषण प्रारूप अनिुग ्नक 1 में अिग स ेप्रकाशित दकया ह ै।
The candidates belonging to Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category availing the
services of scribe for the test, are required to submit a valid Certificate of Disability and the
declaration published on CSL website, filled in with requisite details to the invigilator for
attending the test, failing which they shall not be permitted to use the services of the scribe
for the test. Detailed instructions and declaration format are published separately as
Annexure 1.
15. मॉक टेस ्ट करन े केशिए एक लिक सीएसएि वबेसाइट पर ददनाकं 22 अक ्तबूर 2019 स े
उपिब ्ध होगा । यह उम ्मीदवारों को ऑनिाइन टेस ्ट के पैटनड पर पररशचत करना ह ैऔर सभी
उम ्मीदवारों को सिाह दी िाती ह ै दक वे ददनांक 26 अक ्तबूर 2019 को ऑनिाइन केशिए आवदेन
करने स ेपहि ेमॉक टेस ्ट परूा करन ेकेशिए समय िें । उम ्मीदवार कृपया ध ्यान दें दक मॉक टेस ्ट के
शवषयों को मूि ऑनिाइन परीक्षा के साथ कोई समानता नहीं हो सकती ह ै। A link for doing mock test will be available on CSL website from 22 October 2019.
This is to familiarise the candidates on the pattern of the online test and all candidates are
advised to take time for completing the mock test before appearing for the Online test on
26 October 2019. The candidates may please note that the contents of the mock test may have
no resemblance with the original online test.
16. ऑनिाइन परीक्षा के शिए भाग िेने हतेु दकसी उम ्मीदवार को कोई यात्रा भत ्ता नहीं दी
िाएगी ।
No travelling allowance will be paid to any candidates for appearing for the Online test.
17. उम ्मीदवार कृपया ध ्यान दें दक ऑनिाइन परीक्षा की शतशथ, समय और स ्थान पररवर्थतत करन े
केशिए अनरुोध को प्रोत ्साशहत नहीं दकया िाएगा ।
Candidates may please note that request for changing the date, time and venue of
Online test will not be entertained.

18. उम ्मीदवार िो परीक्षा कक्ष में शनरीक्षक के शनदेिों का उि ्िंघन करत ेहुए या कदाचार में िग े
हुए पाए िाते हैं, तो उन ्हें अयोग ्य घोशषत दकया िाता ह ै।
Candidates who are found engaged in malpractices or violating the instructions of the
Invigilator in the examination hall will be disqualified.
19. बुिावा पत्र अस ्थायी ह ैऔर शनयुशक्त का प्रस ्ताव संस ्थाशपत नहीं करता ह ैऔर ऑनिाइन
परीक्षा में भाग िेने से कोचीन शिपयाडड में रोजगार केशिए दकसी भी दावे हतेु उम ्मीदवार को हकदार
नहीं बनाया िाएगा ।
The call letter is provisional and does not constitute an offer of appointment and mere
attending the Online test will not entitle the candidate to any claim for employment in Cochin
Shipyard.
20. उम ्मीदवार को परीक्षा केन ्द्र में अपने साथ कोई मूि प्रमाणपत्र या अंक सूची या उसके
फोटोकॉपी िाने की आवि ्यकता नहीं ह ै।
Candidates need not carry with them any Original Certificates or mark sheets or their
photocopies to the examination centres.
21. उम ्मीदवारों को सिाह दी िाती है दक वे पद सबंधंी परीक्षा अद्यतन के सबंधं में, िगातार
सीएसएि वबेसाइट (कैररयर पृ.) देखें ।
Candidates are advised to frequently visit CSL website (Careers page), regarding
the post test updates.
22. अयोग ्यता के मामिे में आवेदन की अस ्वीकृशत के संबंध में कोई पत्राचार पर शवचार नहीं दकया
िाएगा ।
No correspondence regarding the rejection of application in case of ineligibility will be
entertained.
23. ऑनिाइन परीक्षा के आयोिन के बाद, प्रि ्नपत्र और अस ्थायी उत ्तरसूची सीएसएि वेबसाइट
पर ददनांक 29 अक ्तबूर 2019 को प्रकाशित दकया िाएगा । ऑनिाइन परीक्षा में उम ्मीदवारों द्वारा
प्राप ्त अंकों के आधार पर, उम ्मीदवारों को प्रत ्येक पदों के मेररट/आरक्षण के क्रम में 1:6 अनुपात में
चरण II केशिए िघुसूचीगत दकया िाएगा । एक से अशधक उम ्मीदवार समान अंक प्राप ्त करने के
मामिे में, ऑनिाइन परीक्षा के शवषय भाग में प्राप ्त अंक को मेररट सूची के क्रम को शनधाडररत करन े
का आधार माना िाएगा । इसके बाद भी बराबरी के मामिे में, सापेक्ष मेररट को आय ुमें वररष ्ठता के
आधार पर तय दकया िाएगा । दफर भी ग्रूप चचाड/ वैयशक्तक साक्षात ्कार केशिए उम ्मीदवारों को
िघुसूचीगत करन े के उदे्दि ्य से ऑनिाइन परीक्षा में उत ्तीणड होने केशिए न ्यूनतम अंक तय करने का
अशधकार सीएसएि पर शनभडर ह ैऔर ऐसे मामिे में, िघुसूचीयन करने का अनुपात 1:6 से कम हो
सकता ह।ै
After the conduct of Online Test, question papers and provisional answer keys will be
published on CSL website by 29 October 2019. Based on the marks secured by the candidates
in the Online Test, the candidates shall be short-listed for Phase II in the ratio of 1:6 in the
order of merit/ reservation of each posts. In case, same marks secured by more than one
candidate, marks scored in the subject part of the online test shall be the basis of determining
the order of merit list. In case of tie thereafter, relative merit shall be decided based on
seniority in age. However, CSL reserves the right to fix minimum marks for pass in the online
test for the purpose of short listing candidates for the Group Discussion / Personal Interview
and in such cases, the ratio of shortlisting may be less than 1:6.
24. शवज्ञापन अशधसूचना सं. पीएंडए/18 (194)/2016-खंड II ददनांक 03 अगस ्त 2019 के
अन ्य शनयम एवं ितें िागू होगा ।
Other terms and conditions of the advertisement notification No. P&A/18(194)/2016-
Vol II dated 03 Aug 2019 shall apply.
