North Centraljournal of agricultural economics. Uan1980. v. 2 (1). p. 25-30. 9 ref. (NALCall No.: HD1773.A3N6).Extract: Results suggest that decliningenrollments have led to increased perpupil expenditures in rural schooldistricts. Increased costs are primarilydue to decreases in pupil/teacherratios. The state aid distributionformula in Indiana does a better job ofcompensating urban scrools for thesecost increases then it does for ruralschools.

The data were usedto test a fOcilitative-constraint mmdelaeveloped from selected components cfdifferential association, differentialidentification, and socitl controltheories. Regression analysis was usedto identify the factors that warepredictive of frequency of marijuanause. Discriminant analysis was used tocompare "users," "experimenters," and'nonusers" on the basis of factorschosen to represent each dimension oftrio theoretical perspective. Tilefindings demonstrated that thetheoretical model was useful inpreoicting the frequency of marijuanause and for correctly classifyingstudents into appropriate usercategories.
