EMERGENCY REPAIRS: Emergency repairs can be completed and shipped out within 24 hours of receipt of your partsand purchase order. Parts can be shipped via FEDEX, if required.Rush charges may be incurred.

SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS: Most glass parts and ceramicinsulators are very fragile and are easily damaged during ship-ment. Therefore, please package all filaments carefully to avoiddamage during shipment. Filaments should be packaged in a boxat least 6 inches square using packing peanuts or bubble packas cushioning. We recommend shipping by UPS or FEDEX forbest shipping and handling. Return Authorization Numbers Are NotRequired.

PRICES FOR FILAMENT REPAIRS: For the best prices, shipfilaments to us in larger lots. This reduces the cost of handlingand processing orders, thereby allowing us to pass the savingson to you. Filaments and heaters from various manufacturers canbe combined to obtain the best prices.

OTHER FILAMENT REPAIRS: In addition to the filamentsdescribed herein, we can repair many other filaments. If your fil-ament is not described in this catalog, give us a call. In thesecases, any information that you can provide such as a descriptionof the filament design or construction, composition and size of thefilament material, or drawings of the filament would be greatly ap-preciated. If possible, send us a filament for repair with at least asmall piece of the original filament material intact. We will needsome of this filament material to determine its dimensions andcomposition. Normal delivery on these special requests is 3 to 4weeks when done for the first time.

Four Types of Repairs Now Available at SIS™

As the world leader in developing new methods and new alloysfor mass spectrometer filaments, SIS can now provide four dif-ferent types of repair for your mass spectrometer to provide forimproved performance.

Standard Filament Repairs - Part No. FILREPNormally filaments sent for repair are repaired using the same materials and filament geometry that was used in the original manufacture of the mass spectrometer filaments. This is ourstandard filament repair unless you request a different type ofrepair such as the other configurations described below.

NEW - SISAlloy® Filament Repairs - Part No. FILREPASIS™ has spent more than four years developing this new alloyof rhenium for mass spectrometer filament repair and manufac-ture. Our research has shown that by alloying pure rhenium witha small concentration of yttria, we have been able to improve fil-ament performance by reducing warping and sagging of the fil-aments. This alloy is now used in a variety of wire sizes and coilsizes. See page A8 for additional details or visit our website forthe application notes on this new patented technology.

Yttria Coated Filaments Repairs - FILREPYSIS™ can coat your standard repaired filament with yttria oxide.Several manufacturers have used the yttria oxide coating on fil-aments to increase filament emission and lower filament temper-ates, which results in increased filament life. See page A9 foradditional details or the application note on our website.

Yttria Coated SISAlloy® Filament Repairs - FILREPYASIS™ has combined the two technologies above by yttria coatingour SISAlloy filaments. This provides a filament which will notwarp or sag and has greater emission and longer filament life.See page A9 for additional details.
