1. A4Alternatively referred to as letter, A4 is a ISO standard paper size thatmeasures 210 x 297mm or 8.27 11.69 inches and is the default papersize used with most printers.Multistation Access Unit (MSAU)Definition - What does Multistation Access Unit (MSAU) mean?A multistation access unit (MSAU) is a central device/hub used in computer networking toconnect network nodes or computer or devices with local area networks. MSAU provides ameans of data-sharing between different computing devices in an organization. The working mechanism of MSAU is based on token-ring network topology in which allcomputers and computing devices are connected with each other in a logical circle. In thissystem, connectivity with other computers remains stable and users continue to communicatewith each other when one computer or computing device fails. Also known as a media access unit (MAU), which is often called an Ethernet transceiver.Techopedia explains Multistation Access Unit (MSAU)A multistation access unit is a standalone device or connector that is used to connect devicesattached to a network over a token-ring network. Each MSAU includes eight ports. There are two types of MSAU:1. Active MSAUIt does not provide any kind of power to the network or to signals. 2. Passive MSAUIt is powered and is used to regenerate or boost network traffic signals. An MSAU has the following characteristics: Fault Tolerance -An MSAU provides fault tolerance in an established network. This canprevent many network device failures. Traffic Bypass-If any computer goes down, the MSAU bypasses the network traffic to provideuninterrupted communication between network nodes.PVC-PVC stands for Polyvinyl Chloride and is made from a combination of plastic and vinyl. The mostcommon use is in plumbing as water pipes and sewer lines.ThickNet, also known as 10BASE5 or IEEE 802.3-1985, is an Ethernet standard thatrequires a specialized coaxial cable to transmit Ethernet frames at a rate of 10Mbps. It 2. derives its nickname, which is a portmanteau of "Thick Ethernet," from the thick coaxialcable it uses, which is 0.375 inches in diameter. What is ISDN?Stands for "Integrated Services Digital Network." No, its not the same thing as the ISBN you see inbooks. ISDN is a data transfer technology, created in 1984, that can transfer data significantly fasterthan a dial-up modem. ISDN enables wide-bandwidth digital transmission over the public telephonenetwork, which means more data can be sent at one time. A typical ISDN connection can supporttransfer rates of 64K or 128K of data per second. While these speeds are faster than what you can getwith a dial-up modem, the newer DSL technology can support even faster transfer rates and is lesscostly to set up and maintain.
