Sysgem Enterprise Manager(SEM)

The Sysgem Enterprise Manager (SEM)provides companies of all sizes with a sim-ple, powerful tool for managing IT, audit-ing security, administering user accountsand monitoring systems throughout theentire enterprise.

SEM has a base framework that extendsnetwork-wide to all major platforms, andsupports a set of management phases tomonitor, audit, report and manage resour-ces on those platforms.

A set of modular applications can also bebought and installed separately to provideyou with integrated system management,user account management and securitymanagement.

The SEM Base Framework

SEM operates network-wide using a cli-ent/server architecture and supports amulti-platform environment (Windows NT,UNIX/Linux, OpenVMS, NetWare, MVS,OS 400, etc.). It:

• Is completely customizable and requiresvery little effort or expertise to tailor. Itsupports Perl and O/S command langu-age scripts such as OpenVMS DCL andUNIX Shell and comes with a set ofsample scripts.

• Provides an automated 'Telnet' facility,giving fully audited, single sign-onfunctionality that is authenticated withstrict access control.

• Has the ability to display monitoredoutput with a web browser interface.

These modules provide packaged soluti-ons with comprehensive functionality.They are easy to use, they support lay-ered applications (such as MS Exchange,ORACLE, PATHWORKS, PMDF, LotusNotes, SAP etc.) and include:

Layered Applications

Support for MS Exchange, ORACLE,PATHWORKS and PMDF is customerdriven and covers a wide range of pop-ular requests. Check out the availabilityof support for Lotus Notes, and SAP etc.

License and DistributionInformation

Licenses are based on:

• The number of client system installa-tions.

• The number of platform servers andthe size of the machines runningthose servers (normally categorized aseither Workgroup, Departmental, orEnterprise class machines).

• The number of user accounts on sup-ported systems (in the case of theSysgem Account Manager (SAcM) ).

• The plug-in functionality of theSysgem System Manager (SSyM),Sysgem Account Manager (SAcM),and the Sysgem Security Manager(SSeM) application modules arelicensed separately.

• The functionality to develop SEMlayered (plug-in) applications withthe Sysgem Development Manager(SDeM) is not required by all cus-tomers and is licensed separately.
