Ana Fernández A10 M-W Both texts point out the relevance of museums for the public to enrich their knowledge and culture, the way to achieve this goal is just a matter of opinion. The first author goes for the idea that they have to evolve as new technologies have done, to widen the variety of visitors they receive. This wider range can be reached just by offering enhanced exhibitions that will attract people who want to do something cultural in their spare time, and not only for the most cultivated ones. This makes them more accessible and friendlier instead of exclusive as they used to be before. I completely agree with this writer, everything has changed to become tech savvy and museums shouldn’t be an exception. Every toddler and almost every teenager would love to play with parts of an exposition rather than looking at it from behind a barrier, and there is a child inside each one of us. On the other hand, the second text expresses the concern of lowering the cultural level in account of concentrating the attention in the medium and not in the end. It is also raised that the museum’s function of opening their visitors’ mind may be eclipsed by the technological innovation. In this author’s opinion the cost of making people feel better or having fun is losing the meaning of the ‘real’ museums. From my point of view, the best thing for administrators to do is to maintain a balance between technological advance and content as far as possible. It’s a hard work for them but all of us have adapted ourselves to new ways of communication and so should they.

Ana Fernández A10 M-W

Both texts point out the relevance of museums for the public to enrich their knowledge and culture, the way to achieve this goal is just a matter of opinion.
