Say (O Muhammad): Call upon Allah or call upon The

Merciful, whichever you call upon, He has the best

    names.. 17:110

The word Allah in the Quran is the name of an

essence of His 99 beauful names and qualies like

    Merciful, Kind, Knowing...

These qualies and Names are therefore an infra-

structure for human ethics (akhlaq) because in Islam,

the human being is the representave of Allah.

The Prophet (pbuh) has said: Adopt the akhlaq of

    What is a home?

A home is the most permanent of the 3 basic human

necessies - food, clothing & shelter.

The home is the centre of ones life which determine

how one makes lifes decisions, it shapes our

atudes, our awareness and self esteem. It providesus with a foundaon which is invisible.

A man has to adopt 3 characteriscs with respect to

    his family:

Adala (jusce) literally means to put everything in its

righul place. Somemes jusce is confused with

equality. Equality is not a condion for jusce. e.g.Jusce in a classroom does not that all the students

are given equal marks; but that marks are given

    according to ability and effort.

Similarly, it would not be jusce if a large oak tree was

Masum (pl. Masumeen) means the sinless or infal-

lible ones. When the Prophet (pbuh) recited the aya

33:33 he said: "Thus Me and my Ahlulbayt are clear

"Whoever obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys

"....and obey not from among them a sinner or an

The ayaat conclude that obedience is only of those

who are sinless (Masum) AhlulBayt literally means

people of the house referring to ones family. In Islam

the term refers to the family of the Prophet (pbuh)

    Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh)

Islam literally means submission, obedience and

peace. It is derived from the Arabic root word

"SALAMA" which means peace, purity, submission

and obedience. So a Muslim is one who is obedient

In day-to-day life, Muslims maintain the sancty of

God's commandments through a variety of pracces

which are fall into five main categories Wajib,

    Mustahab, Haraam, Makruh, & Mubah.

Wajib or Fardh means a religious responsibility

which relates to tasks every Muslim is required to

perform such as salaa, sawm, hajj, hijab, eang only

    halal..

Mustahab or sunnat acts are dues recommended,

but not essenal; fulfilment of which is rewarded,

though they may be neglected without punishment"

Haraam means forbidden. In Islam it is used to refer

to anything that is prohibited by Islamic law.

Makruh is a disliked act. Though it is not a sin, one

who abstains from it is rewarded.

Mubah denotes an act which is neither forbidden

    nor recommended.
