This mini writing portfolio is an easy way to record a child’s writing development over the course of the

school year.

Each month, approximately the same date each month, have the child write about themselves. Prior to the activity you may want to generate ideas verbally.

Afterwards, send the child to write. When the child is finished, if necessary, record what the writing

“says.” I usually do this on a sticky note.

Simply Copy and staple. Additional lined sheets have been included for later in the year or advanced writers. For one classroom or home use only.
