WElComE to SUmmER At SACRED HEARt 2010! Our unique program offers a variety of coeducational courses to meet the recreational and academic needs of students from ages 2 years through high school. All courses are taught by professional educators in a spectacular setting which includes an updated facility, formal gardens and a 15-acre nature preserve with marked trails, ponds and a marsh.

ABoUt tHE CAmP StAFFMeg Butzier is the Director for Summer at Sacred Heart 2010. Meg teaches in the Primary School at the Academy of the Sacred Heart during the school year, and has 24 years of experience with summer programming in the Oakland County area. Many of the teaching staff at Summer at Sacred Heart are certified teachers, with many years of experience working with children of various ages. The counselors that will assist the teachers are all hard-working college students that love being with children.

THe AcADeMy Of THe SAcreD HeArT was founded in 1851 and is Michigan’s oldest independent school. Welcome to the Little Ducks! We will offer many options this sum-mer. Send your little duck for full or half days, five, three or two days a week. Discovery day campers will have the opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy lots of new adventures. each week the campers will enjoy arts and crafts, sports, music, drama, cooking, computers, water play and nature classes. Each group of 12 campers will have a qualified counselor that will take them to each of their teacher-directed activities. campers should bring a labeled bathing suit and towel every day so they can enjoy the outdoor water fun. They will need a bag lunch and beverage too!

Every Monday morning, campers will choose five activities for their week-long adventure. Some weeks you can also choose to be a newscaster on live TV with W.A.S.H. or learn how to run a business in campers Incorporated. We will go on some outside adventures such as a trip to a park, an outing to see how a business is run, and other exciting places. Join us for the fun. They will earn the money to go to these sites by selling pizza lunches to the entire camp every friday. every day the campers will enjoy tennis, archery, arts and crafts, computers, cooking, games, sports, On Stage time to show off their talents and some free time to chat with their new friends. come join us in the quest for fun!

Since children can acquire these skills by using their fingers, hands, eyes and senses in playful activities geared toward the small muscles of the body, we will be offering a fun, active class to practice and improve these skills. We will be sharpening these skills by using the Handwriting Without Tears program and materials, as well as using clay and scissors, playing games, sewing, doing paper and pencil activities, and much more. Everyone can join in on the fun to improve fine motor skills!

REGiStRAtion tERmS: • All payments, online and by mail, must be paid in full before the camper starts the Day camp, an enrichment class, Tutoring, or

extended Day Program.

CAnCEllAtionS: • In the event that Summer at Sacred Heart cancels a Day camp, an enrichment class, Tutoring, or extended Day Program, your

entire fee will be refunded.

• If, 10 days before the start of camp, June 21, 2010, a participant elects to cancel a Day camp, an enrichment class, Tutoring, or

extended Day Program a refund of 15% less than the total cost will be given. If less than 10 days, a 50% refund will be given.

• After the start of a Day camp, an enrichment class, Tutoring, or extended Day Program, no refund will be given.

• I also understand that there cANNOT be any refund if a student is dismissed, sick or withdraws from Day camp, an enrichment

class, Tutoring, or extended Day Program once the program has begun.

ConSEnt to tREAtmEnt: • In the case of medical emergencies, I understand that every effort will be made to contact the parents or guardians of the camper.

In the event that I, the parent or legal guardian of this applicant, is unreachable, I delegate Summer at Sacred Heart the authority

and consent to any and all medical, surgical, dental or hospital care or treatment while he/she is a camper at Summer at Sacred

Heart. Such treatment is to be rendered by, or under the jurisdiction of a duly licensed physician, nurse or dentist. Summer at

Sacred Heart is fully authorized to act in accordance with their best judgment is such an emergency and is absolved from any

liability or financial responsibility in connection therewith.

• for any medical condition that requires administration of medication and/or medications that will be brought to the Summer at

Sacred Heart campus, a medical form to dispense the medication must be filled out. You may get forms from the office.

PiCk-UP AUtHoRizAtion: • campers will be released only to persons authorized by the parents or legal guardians. If there are any changes, we require a
