But Integration Remains a Top Challenge
…without data integration, cloud-based systems won’t provide the value you’re seeking, indeed they may not be
cost effective at all.”“

According to the Experts…
• Top SaaS/Cloud Challenges:• Security, Performance, Availability, Integration
SaaS vendors must provide more robust integration strategies that recognize the heterogeneous
environments that most customers now run and will run in the near future.
SaaS integration will emerge as a key discipline in the overall enterprise app strategies of enterprises who seek

Integration Lessons LearnedBuy Informatica’s PowerCenter Salesforce Connector:
The use of the Salesforce Connector cut significant time off our development effort. Additionally, since it was part of Informatica we required fewer skill sets for development.
Ensure Ongoing Integration Expertise: If supporting integrations internally, have your internal resources trained and participating in the initial integration creation, not just after go-live.
Some data can be loaded by the business admins:Consider using the Informatica On Demand especially when you want to replicate data and schema changes quickly from Salesforce into your data warehouse with a set and forget mentality.
More mappings = easier supportSmaller, less complex mappings means easier support and readability. You will have more mappings, but it’s much easier to organize and troubleshoot data issues.
Don’t load everything and the kitchen sink:It is tempting to add everything to Salesforce. While it is nice to report on it and make dashboards on it in Salesforce, sometimes, just having visibility is all that is required. Consider mash-ups, links to reports, documents loaded...
Clean your data first: Take the time to cleanse, standardize, and de-dupe your data prior to loading it from one system to another. If you don’t do it up front you will spend twice the time doing it later. Additionally, implement an ongoing data quality strategy.
