IntroductionUniversal Coatings & Services was established in 1999,specialising in high quality surface preparation andprotective coatings for engineering, petro-chemical,subsea, power and civil industries. The Universal site isequipped with a large blast pen and open plan paintingshop approximately 60,000 sq. ft. We also offer off-siteservices in the UK and overseas.

LocationsOur main quayside facility in Middlesbrough, Teessideprovides immediate access to one of the UK’s busiest portswith ample craneage and direct access/load-out for largescale and complex structures.

Universal also has a deep water quay and painting facility atthe port of Dundee, Scotland.

ExperienceOur experience includes the application of coatings for theoffshore industry (using systems which meet therequirements of the Norsok Specification), carrying outcontracts for the Highways Agency on road bridges /viaducts and the protective coating of pipe work (includingon-site maintenance and repairs post installation).

Quality & SafetyAll our inspectors are BGAS/CSWIP qualified. Inspection isroutinely carried out on all shop work and is available off-siteas required. We work in line with Wilton Group’s qualitymanagement system that is set up and certified by LloydsRegister in accordance with ISO 9000:2000 & ISO9000:2001.
