Our Immediate Need – New Premises for Chapter

• Pune is a fast growing city from all aspects and in this age of competition, we need to excel at all levels.

• Pune houses a number of Universities- both National and International which have a state of the art campus to attract the best of the students

• Present premises is insufficient to serve increasing number of students and members.o Enough parking space not available for students and visitors

• Surroundings of the Chapter premises have operations of a vehicle garage, a gynaec hospital o Do not have sync with the activities carried by the Chapter.o Disturbs the Chapter activities such as conducting OTC Classes.

Convention Why Pune?• Experienced Team

o Pune held many National & Regional Level Programs successfully.

• Good Environment and young Team.

• Excellent Convention Centre and presence of all big Hotels’ Chains for hosting

such event.

• Infrastructural Capabilities of the city to hold National Convention.

• Last National Convention held in Pune 14 years back

• City well connected with all parts of the country for convenient reach

• Already submitted proposal with WIRC for its recommendations to Ho

Our willingness and Hope – To Host 40th National Convention ... Continue ...

Tentative Dates for National Convention are proposed as under:

• November 1 to 3, 2012; or

• November 8 to 10, 2012; or

• November 22 to 24, 2012; Or

• any dates which might be fixed by the ICSI.

VENUE: - with state of art facilities for holding National Convention 2012:

• Marriott Convention Centre with more than 1800 delegate capacity; or

• Yashwantrao Chavan Natya Gruha with more than 1000 delegate

capacity

Goals of Pune Chapter for 2012

• Vision and Mission to be in line with the ICSI and WIRC.

• Strengthening the information network at chapter with Members and

Students.

• Providing adequate placement services to the Students and Members.

• Arranging knowledge based programs for Students and members at Chapter

level to hone the skills, keeping in view challenges in today’s corporate

environment and requirement of the Industry.

• Reaching out to Students in rural area to bring visibility to the CS Profession

by way of CAP.

• Strengthening of OTC

• To hold one National Students Program on our own.

Challenges on Administrative front

• ICSI Directive - approval of single Revenue expenditure more than Rs. 25,000• Need to increase this limit• Need to provide proper guidelines giving exemptions for routine

expenses • Lengthy and tedious procedure for CAPEX• Tie up with colleges for examination centers

• With increase students registration, need to tie up with big colleges for seating arrangements for exams

• Contemporary technological facilities at Chapter• Adequate and continuous training to Chapter Staff including contractual staff• Need more staff to cater to increasing number of students and members

efficiently

Need Aggressive Marketing

• Pune is an Oxford of East housing many national and international educations institutions offering varied type of courses

• There is a need for aggressive marketing though radio, cable television to attract more students and compete with private institutions

• Need to allocate adequate funds for advertisement on CS profession in Pune
