Metro South Health is significantly boosting health services and access to round-the-clock care for the Wynnum-Manly community.

A new community health centre

The current Wynnum Health Service has been a valuable asset to the community for 35 years, but it is nearing the end of its design life. That’s why we need a new centre—to better meet the needs of modern health care delivery, in a community setting and close to our patients’ homes.

The new Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre, Gundu Pa, will be a purpose built, state-of-the-art facility that will deliver new and expanded services for the Wynnum-Manly community. New services will include consulting suites, an expanded dental clinic, addiction and mental health services, more allied health services and extended operating hours for BreastScreen.

All services provided at the existing Wynnum Health Service will remain in the Wynnum-Manly community.

24-hour primary care

We’ve listened to the community and as a direct response to your feedback, we will be reinstating a 24-hour primary care clinic in Wynnum. The clinic will deliver appropriate care for people with minor injuries and illnesses, providing a 24-hour safety net for the community.

The primary care clinic at the existing Wynnum Health Service will transition to a 24-hour service, until it is relocated to the new Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre.

Maintaining health services

We’re committed to maintaining all existing health services in the local community, which includes the rehabilitation and palliative care services that currently operate out of Wynnum Health Service.

We are in the process of planning the best way in which these services will be delivered and the final model will be determined based on community feedback and the needs of local residents.
