September 17, 2017: The Battleground of the Mind (Part 2) Satan’s Strongholds & 3 Sources of Satan’s Strongholds
There are satanic strongholds over countries and communities, and there are strongholds which influence churches and individuals. Wherever a stronghold exists, it is a demonically induced pattern of thinking. Specifically, it is a “house made of thoughts” which has become a dwelling place for satanic activity.
September 24, 2017: The Battleground of the Mind (Part 3) The Armor of Christ’s Likeness & Peace in the Battle
The purpose of all aspects of spirituality, warfare included, is to bring us into the image of Christ. Nothing, not worship nor warfare, neither love nor deliverance, is truly attainable if we miss the singular objective of our faith: Christlikeness.
Prayer:
Lord of heaven and earth, we know
that You hold all things in Your hands.
In Your mercy, provide for the needs of
those who have been affected by Hur-
ricane Harvey and the rain that contin-
ues to fall, work through those who
bring relief and aid, and protect all
from any further harm. Draw all to the
cross of Christ, who is our salvation
now and always. We ask this in Jesus’
name. Amen.
HARVEY RELIEFHARVEY RELIEF
At least 161 LCMS congregations are in the areas affected by Hurricane Har-vey and the floods. The Synod stands with those in need through prayer and sup-port. “For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all” (2 COR. 5:14). The love of Christ compels us to love everyone. Love flows from the cross in service to those in need, just as Christ came in the flesh to save. You can help those suffering from the effects of the storm and the floodwa-ters. LCMS World Relief and Human Care, through Disaster Response, is working with the Texas District to support relief efforts and to aid those in need.
