SO HOW DO APPRENTICES PROGRESS?

We offer a range of exciting Dental Apprenticeships. The Apprenticeship will allow learners to become registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) as a qualified Dental Nurse. Learners will earn a wage and work as a company employee whilst gaining their qualification.

There are no limits to how long a learner at your company can continue their further education, if you feel it is valuable to your business. On completion of an Apprenticeship they can go on to further post-grad qualifications, such as radiography or sedation and we also run many Continuous Professional Development qualifications to keep skills up to date.

FIRSTLY, WHAT ARE APPRENTICESHIPS?The Government has raised the age that young people can leave education to 18, but what does that mean for employers? Well it means that many young people are now looking into further training and choosing Apprenticeships.

Our Dental Nursing Apprenticeships use employer-led, up to date, flexible qualifications which meet the changing skills needs of employers and offer a unique way to grow your workforce by combining employment with practical, on the job training. This means that whilst your apprentice is learning new skills and gaining a qualification, your surgery will benefit from them contributing to your productivity.

One of the most common things we hear from employers is that they struggle finding young people who are ready for work or whose skills fit in with the modern dentistry sector. Our Apprenticeships solve this problem by teaching both functional and employability skills.

-3We chose to recruit from Training

2000 because of their selection criteria, saving us time and money in advertising and selection interviews, and we are happy in the knowledge that they will select suitable applicants based on the needs of the practice. We have had a 100% pass rate from our trainees enabling the practice to run more efficiently and work together as a team, which reflects on the patients who are receiving good quality care.

Firms that employ

apprentices lower their recruitment costs because training staff is more cost-

effective than hiring skilled staff

Training apprentices

produces workers with skills that are not available

on the external jobs market, allowing businesses to shape

their workers into precisely the right people for the

job

Apprenticeships enable you, the

employer, to introduce new talent to the surgery; ensuring that skills and experience are

passed on through your workforce

Apprentices are highly

motivated, keen to learn and looking to progress within your

business
