Students can feast on candy corn while having tonsof fun playing this Thanksgiving game. Let students
use the gobble game grid and game pieces (page 71) to makegame boards. Have students choose nine picture pieces tocolor, cut out, and glue to their grids in any order. Give eachstudent a handful of candy corn to use as markers. Cut out a
set of all the game pieces and place them in a container.To play the game, select a game piece from the container,
call out the name, and have students cover thepicture with candy corn if it appears on their gameboards. The player or players who cover a row of
three pictures across, down, or diagonally wins.After the game, let students enjoy the
candy corn as a treat.

3. Staple the pleated paperin the center, then fold thepaper in half and glue thefolds together, creating alarge fan.
These colorful decorations will brighten up any turkey day.Give each child a short cardboard tube and have him cut slitsapproximately 2" long and 1/2" wide around one end of the tube.To make feet for the turkey, cut two of the slits slightly longer andleave a 1" space in between. Cut points at the bottom of these twopieces to resemble turkey feet. Push the remaining cardboardpieces forward. Copy the turkey body pattern (page 70) onto brownpaper and cut out. Apply glue to the uncut end of the tube andattach the turkey body pattern. Color the base of the tube brownand color the cardboard pieces to resemble turkey feathers.
Turn a simple paper fan into aunique Thanksgiving decoration.
1. Hold a 12" x 18" sheet ofwhite or yellow constructionpaper vertically. Accordion-fold the paper from top tobottom in 2" sections.
2. Open up the paper andcolor each section red,gold, yellow, brown, or tan.
Grab some clay and let your students roll out an unusual turkeydecoration. Give each child 12 wooden craft sticks and one half of acraft stick. Use markers to color the sticks red, orange, yellow, and brown.Give each student a piece of self-hardening clay and have her roll the clayinto a small ball. Push the 12 craft sticks into the clay ball and positionthem so they resemble turkey feathers. Push the craft stick half in front ofthe feathers. Draw and cut out a turkey face and glue it to the half craftstick. After the clay has dried, paint it brown.
4. Cut a 4" circle from yellow paper and glue it to the center of the fan. Cut a 2" circle from brownpaper and glue it in the center of the larger circle. Use scrap paper for the eyes, beak, and wattle andglue them on the small circle to make a turkey face. Secure the folded area together with a staple.
