FROM THE DESK OF VICE PRINCIPAL

Where the will is strong and the goal is determined

Where the teacher and the taught are without fear

And the teaching-learning is spontaneous.

Where the learning environment has not been

fragmented by fanatics of class, caste, religion,

Regions, politics and egoism.

Where sincere tireless striving stretches its arms

towards perfection.

Where the clear stream of reason and the path

towards the goal has not lost its way into the

murky swamp of inaction, indifference and fear.

Where each teacher is led forward by thee into

The ever-widening field of knowledge and challenges.

Into that heaven of free learning environment,

My father, let my fellowmen awake.

Mrs. Susan George

(Vice-Principal)

EDITORIAL DESK

academic year 2014-15 has come to an end

successfully. It has been an integrated endeavor of

TEACHER’S CORNER

Life in a Metro

Good or Bad?

Page 13: A TRI MONTHLY NEWS LETTER - Atmiya Vidyapeeth January to... · The Rann Utsav is a unique festival to experience the living in tents, enjoying evening bonfires and watching artisans

Modern amenities, huge infrastructure, spanking new

outlook, civilized gentry, latest lifestyle, long queue

of shopping complexes, sparkling lights in disco and

seven star hotels is all what describes a metro city.

Metro cities are full of services like education,

transportation, big IT companies and more job

opportunities which attract people to come and live;

leaving aside the small towns and cities. Here a girl is

seen in shorts and boy with a new and trendy

hairstyle. Their culture and standard of living is

altogether different. Nobody is concerned about other

one and nobody even think of LKK (Log

Kyakahenge). One lives the life the way he wants.

This is a very general scenario a common man may

know but to know the reality go and ask with a

person residing over there. High rental rates, petrol

hikes, expensive commodities, parking problem and

pollution are some of the major problems in metro

city. For a short span of time it feels great to have fun

in a metro city where it actually gets alive after 11

pm. The crowd rushes over road in cars at night, have

fun in disco‟s, love birds are seen at every corner,

pan houses are crowded with youth with a cigarette

in their hand.

But what about the long term life in a metro? Life is

so fast over there. Nobody is interested to know what

other feels and want because one is so much involved

in himself that he doesn‟t even know who lives the

next door. Although you get high salary hikes, faster

promotion but you can‟t get your precious time again

which is wasted daily during traveling to and from

home to office due to traffic jam which ultimately

reduces the time to be spent with family and kids

resulting in no social life. One can‟t even take fresh

air early in the morning because metro city is alive

all 24 hours resulting in pollution which ceases a man

to have connection with nature and with oneself.

So a metro city is busy all day, sparkling all night,

new trend setter, lavish lifestyle, suits some people

but for other‟s its worthwhile. A life in a metro is

good or bad is all what you‟ve to decide…

Life in a Metro…

Life of a human is not just about being alive but also

being social, peaceful and contented. People tend to

get more by some means, fair or unfair. All kinds of

people, from poor beggars to villagers to common

people to businessman, all try to get more than their

capacity or means. While the beggars tend to steal,

villagers move to cities and towns to get better job

opportunities, common man cheats either by his own

will or the will others, and mostly with political

backing, businessman never pay their income taxes

properly. In a metropolitan city, you have to face all

kinds of people ── street beggars on footpaths beside

big skyscrapers, people who are obsessed to show

others how intelligent they are, hawkers who go on

insisting you to buy their goods, etc. A metropolitan

city is busy and there life is also very busy. You have

to get up earlier, sleep later, study harder, etc. i.e. you

have to follow a hard life, not an easy life like those in

villages. You get more job opportunities, but you have

to work longer and the job eats up your time. And in a

city if even a girl wants to be traditional, it is a shame.

You need to have a mobile, a MP3 player, a tablet and

other such things at a very early age, otherwise it is a

shame. If the villagers think that a city is a better place

to live, they should think again. Cities have their own

kind of problems. Traffic jams, machine malfunction,

power cuts, lack of proper disposal, weak flyovers,

etc. are bigger problems than those faced by the

villagers. Such problems are very frequent, and some

of them are dangerous enough to take lives.

These problems do not mean that the people who stay

in village never face any problems.

Human beings; wherever they live; in village or in

metro cities, if they are not content with whatever they

have, if they do not know how to show mercy and

kindness to other swill definitely face problems.

and we reap our actions; we sow our actions, and we

reap our habits; we sow our habits, and we reap our

characters; we sow our characters and we reap our

destiny.‟‟ Habits are subject to change and

improvement such as to eat healthy food and always

to say three magical words. Good habits go a long

way in establishing the child‟s personality. The

habits learnt in this phase will stay with us for the

rest of our life.

RIYA SONI OF 4 C SAYS…

It is well said by someone that „‟ Never reject

anybody in your life because good person gives

happiness and badperson gives us experience both

are essential.‟‟ There is one perfect key to excel good

habits that will work for everyone. But there are

some common things to improve learning habits such

as respecting elders, following rules of the school,

talking politely etc. Not all of them require investing

more time. In fact most of these suggestions will be

aimed at reducing our total time usage by learning

good habits in a smart way not just in a hard way. So

we should always have positive attitude towards

learning good habits.

DARSHAN GUJJAR OF 4 A SAYS…

Practicing good things in our lives make us and our

surrounding happy. Every individual should engage in

good deeds to become good human being. There are

many leaders, who become our role model. The

reason behind their greatness is indulging themselves

in good habits. The habits like reading books that

radiates knowledge and moral values. It enhances our

knowledge towards outer world. Participating in group

activities would make a comprehensive or a complete

human being. So we should always be achievers,

creators, positive thinkers and try to inculcate good

habits.

Early to bed and early to rise is a good habit. Drinking

water, taking breakfast, lunch and dinner and sleeping

at night are habits based instinct. Brushing your teeth,

taking bath, wearing clothes and combing your hair

are acquired habits which help a man to look neat and

healthy. A walk in the morning is good for old people.

Respecting elders wishing good morning, good

evening and good night, serving the cause of poor and

needy are good habits which help man to spend a

peaceful life. Education is based on the principal of

habit formation. Education helps in the development

of good habits like punctuality, concentration,

discipline etc. habits are easy to acquire but difficult

to give up. Good habits lead to good manners. Good

manners give us good friends, good friends mean to

good environment and good environment leads to

happy and peaceful life.

IF I WERE A TEACHER FOR A

DAY…. Arpita Tripathy of 8

th A says……………….

Being a teacher is a very difficult task. I couldn‟t

imagine myself as a teacher. But if I would get a

chance to be a teacher I would try my level best to

help students to achieve their goals. I would provide

education to the poor children who don‟t have enough

money for their studies as they also have right for

education. I would encourage the students to study as

the future of our country depends on them. I would

never be partial to any of my student.

All students will be equal for me no rich, no poor, no

bright and no dull. Besides this, I would provide

them all opportunities to prove themselves. And at

last I would teach them that no one is the best. Each

one of us have some or the other problems, But to

improve them will make you a better person.

VedikaSathwara of 6th

A says…………….

Teacher is an individual whom we find teaching in

schools and colleges and she/he is a person who has

infinitely lasting influence on the wards. I really

believe in saying that teachers make the destinies of

the children they teach and they do not know where,

if at all, the influence of teacher stops.

The care I would take of their studies, their character

and conduct would all together be a package of sorts.

My love for them would be abounding yet, at the

same time, I would not have any compromise with

their work and any other activity of their.

This I would like to do as I would like to see them

grow into good personalities, with the qualities of

head and heart. I will try to be a friend and a guide

for them.

Shivangi Yadavof 8th

B says ……………. When I was young, I used to play the role of

teacher not just a teacher but an ideal teacher of

course. Even now, I sometimes imagine that

what I would do if I were a teacher. Immersing

me in that world bring a smile on my face, that

joy of teaching makes me very happy. If I were a

teacher, the most important duty of mine will be

to understand the importance of my profession. I

would not only provide knowledge but also

provide them mind power games and physical

games. I would maintain the discipline of my

class but not with threats orpunishment. In short I

want to tell I will become not only teacher but a

mutual friend, a guide and a philosopher.

RenuYadav of 7th

A says ……………….

If I were a teacher for a day then I would like to

teach Science because science is my favorite

subject. Science is the combination of Physics,

Chemistry and Biology. All three parts are

interesting. I would like to teach science in a

simple manner because science is related to

nature. Science is my favorite subject because I

like the way my teacher teaches me. I like to

teach my students, how to make different types of

models and how to use them. I will make them

learn, how to understand the equations in a simple

manner. At last, I wish my dream come true to be

a Science teacher.

The World of English

Simran Thakur of IX.A says…..

No language has spread as widely as English, and it

continues to spread. Internationally the desire to learn

it is insatiable. In the twenty-first century the world is

becoming more urban and more middle class, and the

adoption of English is a symptom of this, for

increasingly English serves as the lingua franca of

business and popular culture. It is dominant or at least

very prominent in other areas such as shipping,

diplomacy, computing, medicine and education.

English “is symbolic of modernity, work, higher

education, commerce, economics and science and

technology.” In Arabic-speaking countries, science

subjects are often taught in English because excellent

textbooks and other educational resources are readily

available in English.

Saurabh Gunti of IX.B says….

English has spread because of British colonialism. Its

rise has been assisted by the massive exportation of

English as a second language, as well as by the growth

of an English-language mass media. English is

without a doubt the actual universal language. English

can be at least understood almost everywhere among

scholars and educated people, as it is the world media

language, and the language of cinema, TV, pop music

and the computer world. All over the planet people

know many English words, their pronunciation and

meaning.

Dipesh Rajoria of class IX.A says…..

English first began to spread during the 16th century

with British Empire and was strongly reinforced in

20th by USA world domination in economic, political

and military aspects and by the huge influence of

American movies. The concept of a Universal

Language is more significant only now, in the era of

world mass communication. Before this era Greek,
