A talk / workshop on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit - Ged Farrell
This coming Monday, 12th June, Mr. Ged Farrell, national leader of Catholic Charismatic Renewal (Scotland) will be joining us at St. James’ to give a talk / workshop on the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Ged is travelling down especially from Keith to give his in-put during the normal time of St. James’ Prayer Group meeting. Those of you who attended “The Gift” may find this of particular interest, though, as always, everyone is welcome to come along. Please join us and bring a friend if you can! It should be a very encouraging and enlightening evening. God bless!
Please pray for all children making their First Holy Communion around this time, especially the children in our own parish!
June - Month of special devotion to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus
to those who practice devotion to Him
Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary
Alacoque in Paray-le-Monial, France, in
1673
asking her to spread devotion to His Sacred
Heart “Behold this Heart,” Jesus said sorrowfully, as He held His pierced Heart out to
St. Margaret Mary. “Behold this Heart which has so loved men, that it has spared nothing, even to exhausting and consuming itself in order to testify to its love. In return, I have received from the greater part only ingratitude, by their irreverence and their sacrilege, and by the coldness and contempt they
have for Me in this Sacrament of Love.”

Afternoon Tea in St. James’ hall
All parishioners and friends are warmly invited to a traditional Afternoon Tea on Saturday 17th June from 1.00-4.00pm in St. James’ church hall. You will be treated to fresh sandwiches, scones and cakes as well as tea and coffee in abundance. Prosecco will, of course, be available for those who require it, for a small donation. Tickets, priced at £5
will be on sale after Mass from Sunday 28th May or from Fr. Martin after the vigil Masses. Help is also needed to make this event successful so, if you are willing and able, please see the signup sheet in the porch. Even if you are not able to make it on the day, you can still support the parish by providing something for the tea. In addition, the usual raffle will take place at the end of the afternoon, therefore prises will be most gratefully received and can be left on the back shelf in the hall. Please come and support our parish social life! Thank you, Geraldine.
