Background

• OCLC working with TCR to deliver a National Catalogue (WorldCat Local)– wanted more than Find-a-Book ‘to drive traffic’

• SCL Digital Promise– wanted a ‘single poc’ for partners and customers &

potential customers

• Home for Digital Reading/Promo & Info. ‘Offers’• ACE support & leadership of steering group • SCL working with ACE, TRA, TCT, TCR, &

OCLC to deliver (in phases)…

• an online library ‘portal’ – at a UK or ‘home nations’ level

• The equivalent of JLP ‘click & collect’, library content discovery and use

• Access to :– e-membership – e-reading – e-referring & – e-enquiring – with an overlay of neutral, independent, space for

discussion or co-creation using quality assured information

• Driving footfall to local libraries
