JMJ
November 25, 2018 My Dearest Parish Family, God be with us always. Happy Solemnity of Christ the King! I do hope and pray that your Thanksgiving celebrations have been very meaningful, happy and memorable. I thank God for he opportunity to have my older brother and my relatives here to celebrate this wonderful occasion. I also would like to express again on behalf of our Parish Family our sincerest gratitude and thanks for all those volunteers-leaders and parish staff who helped in making the Visit of the First Class Relic of St. Pope John Paul II an spiritually renewing and uplifting event. Let us also continue to pray for those who suffered from the recent fires and find in our hearts a way to assist them. Our Diocese would surely encourage us to once again reach into our generous hearts to help them. Today I celebrate my 29th Anniversary of my Ordination to Priesthood. It was on November 25, 1989 when the late Bishop Julio Xavier Labayen, OCD, DD as the Bishop of Infanta and the Founder of our Religious Community of the Alagad ni Maria (Philippine Disciples of Mary) laid his hands on my head to bestow the Sacred grace of Ordination to Priesthood. In one of the Masses during our Pilgrimage, I shared the words of St Ambrose: “A man’s true wealth would not consist in what he kept but in what he gave away.” As I look back to the years of seminary formation and 29 years of Priestly Ministry - I ask myself have I given as much as I have received? This is quite a tough question to answer but a good one to measure one’s vocation with. It is also a good reminder how to live my life as a priest. I have shared and have always been made aware of what Fr. John Morota who was my Aspirant Director once said that “vocation is a moment to moment
response to a moment to moment call.” It is never easy but with God’s grace and spirit it is always possible. The Liturgical Year has ended with our proclamation in our celebration the our Lord Jesus Christ is indeed King of the Universe. May He reign in our hearts as we embark on the new task of participating fully and engaging actively in the Dynamic Parish Initiative. We begin in the Advent Season with a survey that captures a “picture” of who we are as a Parish Family at present. More on this in the coming letters. God bless and take care. Love and prayers,
Fr.
Dios bendiga y cuide. Con amor y mis oraciones,
P. Thomas Paul K. Naval

A SPECIAL NIGHT TO PRAISE GOD AND LOVE OUR NEIGHBOR On Friday November 9th, the students, their families, and catechists of our Religious Education Program, gathered to raise their minds and hearts to God in a beautiful thanksgiving prayer service. Led in prayer by Deacon Dan, the congregation listened to the Word of God and lifted their prayers, in English and Spanish, accompanied by beautiful hymns performed by the director of our Parish Music Ministry, Andre Rossignol and his wife Diana.
This time, the RE kids had the opportunity to help our neighbors, by donating granola bars as their way of giving to the homeless. These bars will go in the Operation Shoebox that our church assembles as Christmas gifts for Isaiah’s House for the homeless in Santa Ana. In total, we collected 1,143 granola bars! A big thank you to all our families who attended this service and donated to the project Operation Shoeboxes!
Last but not least, THANK YOU Kay Kenson for the wonderful decoration on the altar. Tis’ the season to be Thankful!
