EASTER SUNDAY
Easter changes everything. Having been raised from the dead, Jesus shatters the frightful images that haunt
humanity. Betrayal, torture, crucifixion, death, burial--these terrors pale in the brilliant glory of Jesus
resurrected. Today s psalm guides our response to God s power: it is wonderful in our eyes. Today is indeed a day
for wonder, for gasping in astonishment at Jesus resurrection. For all of human history, death had been final. In the Acts of the Apostles, though, Peter testifies
that Jesus, who was publicly executed, was raised to life by God. John s Gospel admits that the disciples did not
yet understand the Scripture that he had to rise from the dead. Even Jesus closest friends were not expecting this
innovation: life after death. In response to the Easter miracle, Paul tells us to become a fresh batch of dough.
Everything, even our very selves, must become new. Easter changes everything.

Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord April 21, 2019
JMJ April 21, 2019
My Dearest Parish Family, God be with us always. A Blessed, Wonderful and Joyful Easter to all. All it has been. All it was. All it is – IS A LESSON IN THE INCARNATION OF LOVE! I believe that this is what the Lenten Season, Holy Week and starting today the EASTER SEASON should bring into our lives. It is all about the salvific action of God and how it has been revealed through Sacred Scriptures and the tradition that has been handed down from the first encounter with the Divine manifestation in human history. The Blessing in “No” someone gave this to me last Lenten Season and I felt it is something I should share with many people especially people I care for. So here it is: I asked God to take away my pride. “God said No.” It is nor for Me to take away, but for you to give up. I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. “God said No.” Her spirit was whole, her body was only temporary. I asked God to grant me patience. “God said No.” Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn’t granted, it is earned. I asked God to give me happiness. “God said No.” I give you blessings, happiness is up to you. I asked God to spare me from pain. “God said No.” Sufferings draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to Me. I asked God to make my spirit grow. “God said No.” You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
“God said No.” I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things. I asked God to help me love others, as much as He loves Me. God said . . . Ahhh, Finally you got the IDEA! Did we finally get the IDEA? After the invitation to enter into the experience of the Story of our Redemption and to the Glory of Easter – our Loving God’s desire is that we amplify all these by being witnesses and instruments of His Redeeming Love. Now tell me, how can you and I say “No” to the call to be the Easter People . . . the people that bring the light, the joy, the Holy Moment of the Resurrection everyday, every chance and to every person. God bless and take care. Love and prayers,
Fr.
Dios bendiga y cuide. Con amor y mis oraciones,
P. Thomas Paul K. Naval

PASTORAL SERVICES APPEAL (PSA) 2019
“We Are One, Living the Gospel Message” Our Parish goal for the 2019 Pastoral Services Appeal is for at least 600 of families to pledge $133,000 to support Faith Formation, Outreach Ministries, Clergy Formation and Support and parish and diocesan advancement. Gifts made over that amount will go toward church needs and maintenance of our own parish. The PSA provides a convenient way for all of us, no matter what our time limitations, to take an active role in the mission of the church. As a guide to a proportionate gift, please consider pledging a percent of your income, or the pay for one or two hours work each month for ten months. You can submit your PSA Pledge Envelope during Masses this weekend or next, or return them to the parish office. Foreign Currency and Tithing
From time to time we receive foreign currency in our Sunday collection. Unfortunately, we are not able to deposit foreign monies with our bank. We dislike to throw away currency just because it is of no use to
the parish when we know it has value elsewhere, so we ask you to please refrain from contributing with foreign coin. We appreciate our parishioner’s time,
talent, and U.S. treasure!

The best way to protect our children and our church is for adults to learn red flag behaviors and to report concerns to supervisors. This creates a culture of protection. Sign up for a safe environment training even if you are not required.
www.rcbo.org/group/child-and-youth-protection/

April is national Child Abuse Prevention Month. It is most appropriate that Child Abuse Prevention Month is held during the Lenten and Easter season as there is no better time than this when we experience renewal and growth that we celebrate the protection of our most valuable gift from God – our children.
For information on how you can become more informed and involved in keeping our children safe, log on to www.childwelfare.gov/preventing/preventionmonth or visit the Diocesan Office of Child and Youth Protection web page at: www.rcbo.org/group/child-and-youth-protection/
You will be receiving your copy this EASTER!
As Matthew Kelly reflected on his 25 years of speaking and writing, he realized that this biggest inspiration continues to come from the many faithful men and women who support the Mission of Dynamic Catholic. He decided to send an email to all these Ambassadors, asking for their answers to 3 questions: 1. Why do you love
being Catholic? 2. What is your favorite memory as a Catholic? 3. As a Catholic, what are you hopes for the fu-ture? This book is the result of that rallying call. Compiled from thousands of answers, this collection is both inspirational and motivational. Now, it is your turn! As you read and reflect, you will have the opportunity to answer these 3 questions. If you are interested in volunteering with Dynamic Catholic events or book distributions, you may contact [email protected].
