Municipal Building for Boca Raton

Some months ago it was recognized that a town as progressive as Boca Ratonshould have a suitable building in which to house its police department, its firedepartment, and other offices necessary to the conduct of the affairs of a pro-gressive community.

Work was started on a splendidly designed building of the Spanish motif, but finding it difficult to finance the enterprise, work was suspended forseveral months. Conditions have changed to such an extent, however, thatarrangements were made to finance it, and a contract was entered into withMessrs. Cramer & Cramer for its completion. Work is now progressing rapidly, and it is estimated that all departments will be housed in the new building be-fore April has passed.

The first floor will cover a space 112 feet by 64 feet. The second floor willbe 28 feet by 64 feet and will be devoted to an auditorium for the use of theWoman's Club, and for general meeting purposes.

The building will face on the Kings Highway, now the Federal Aid Highway. The contract calls for the building complete, with paving of the streets on allsides, white lighting of same, sidewalks, and properly landscaping the property. The finished job will be a suitable monument to the progressive spirit of BocaRaton, and its beauty in keeping with the surrounding development.

We present herewith a cut showing the building in course of construction.A later issue will show the completed building. The total cost will be $100,000.

WITNESSETH: That the said party of the second part, for and in considera-

tion of the sum hereinafter mentioned does hereby covenant, promise and agree

to and with the said parties of the first part or their successors in office, to pro-

vide all materials and to execute and complete for the said parties of the first part

all certain work required in and for the completion and erection of a Town Hall

on the Southwest corner of Boca Raton Road and King's Highway in the Town
