Background In the early 1990s a study was undertaken at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", conducted by Prof. Bruno Brandimarte, to identify the difference (if indeed there were one) between the casual smoker and the

addicted smoker. The conclusion of this research was that in most cases the habitual smoker was not dependant but had acquired the habit as a behavioural pattern. Only in very rare cases was it a

pathological dependency on nicotine.

The method Elektromeridian [a patented system protected by international laws covering such commercial

inventions), applies to normal smokers and not to those who are nicotine dependant. The Electromeridian approach which in healthy people creates relaxing behaviour, helps to provide an

alternative behaviour for the subject by re-progamming him.

The method is divided in various phases: 1. An evaluation of the existing condition of the subject, in order to define the parameters to be

incorporated in the program, that will be completely managed by appropriate and reliable software.

2. Providing treatments on the basis of electrolytic signals to relax given defined points of auricoltherapy with out the need to insert needles and/or dermal layer penetration.

3. Replacement of smokers habits, through the adoption of preparations of herbal/natural remedies.

4. Time management.

PREMISES

At a time of deep and significant changes in both the University and medical health professions, we need to

ask ourselves, who is the doctor today? In the past, it was the person to whom the patient with the disease, went to ,to be healed. This concept has become revised over time. Today society believes that doctors are

required to both maintain health, as well as treating illness. Once ever one would have agreed that health was represented by the absence of disease. More recently however, this concept was extended to include

(according to the definition of health proposed by the World Health Organization) a "state of complete

physical, mental and social committee and not only the absence of illness". It seems to me immediately evident that ask to preserve or restore a state of health according to this definition, means that a doctor is

being given an impossible goal to achieve: because providing material for total welfare is the satisfaction of need: but the multiplication of needs to be satisfied creates a diversity between the demand and the

likelihood of a solution. In other word, expectations often exceed the capability to produce a result. Despite

increased investment in health (and in reality it appears that this is likely to reduce decline, rather than increase) the needs will never be satisfied: they appear to be theoretically infinite. Against this background,

it is necessary to take the decisions to seek new methodologies and systems for the overall welfare of the person according to strictly rational criteria which treats all justly.

Elektromeridian introduction of treatment Other treatments of healthy subjects over a period of time make use of behavioural information (for instance

assessing if in the family there are smokers, if the subject has made other attempts to stop smoking, or if the treatment is being encouraged by some one else, but the subject does not trust in it. Also physical

measurement through Pneumetry, incidence of smoking , numbers o cigarettes actually smoked, for how many years the subject has smoked etc... taking as a reference methods of microstimulation in areas of the

human body (in particular points of auricolotherapy), while not providing medical treatment. The report on the scientific equipment Elektromeridian, provides a brief description of methodology, and

points out that the data from the three-and six months of the first cycle of treatment, are those from an

experiment carried out in the years 1993-94-95 under strict University control.

The method The Elektromeridian Kobra Brev method. makes best use of the principle of reflexology and auricolotherapy,

by stimulation, through a focussed spherical shape, under a computerized electronic operations, to restore the psycho-physical balance that has been altered by intoxification from the cigarette smoke.

There are 25 stimulated points of the right pavilion headset and 22 points of the left pavilion headset. Each point stimulated corresponds to a specific organ or part of the body. The difference between this

method and the acupuncture traditional help is the fact that while determining the same vibrations at the

epidermal needle level insert, it distinguishes between the parameters previously included in the microchip, different current which are among them never similar. This is thanks to the computer management

software, and also cutaneous resistance of the subject. the body is also stimulated to increase the production of the endorphins necessary to compensate for the bodies request for nicotine.

The duration of treatment and the time of stimulation of each point is processed by microchip and software

equipment as is the number of individual cigarettes actually smoked, the subjects age, the results of a test spirometrico and the number or years that the subject has been smoking. In this way, through this

sophisticated equipment, you can obtain personalized treatment and therefore the maximum effectiveness.

The experimentation below was carried out under the control Institute of experimental medicine at the

University "La Sapienza" of Rome, directed and co-ordinated by Prof. Bruno Brandimarte and carried out at

the Medical Center "Duse" and "Cattaneo" of Rome, Via Ciampi 18, by the Director health Dott.ssa Clafiria Grimaldi, with the collaboration of Prof. Giancarlo Pantaleoni holder ordinary at the time of the chair of

Pharmacology at the University State "and prof. Giancarlo Pantaleoni holder ordinary at the time of the chair of Pharmacology at the University State of Aquila "and prof. Umberto Grieco teacher Bioenergetics to master

"the physical means in coordination with the pharmacology", at the University of Aquila ". Taken into

account are 1000 subjects from different social classes, age, sex, years of smoking, high risk, medium and low risk subjects and the very young. Over 10 years (1995-2005), with a frequency of 100 smokers each

year, who were given from 1 to 3 treatments each, there was a good level of reduction in 90%, and an excellent level, the complete elimination of dependency, also. These were the reported results of the control

Scientific Report and principles of Elektromeridian equipment Reflexology Therapy that uses special areas of the body expressed in several ways: vibration, massage, Electrode

stimulation, pressure etc. These areas of the body are particularly sensitive to reflect within the body the stresses which are passed to the bodies directly reflected through thses sensitive areas. This technique is

particularly concentrated in these areas: feet, hands, back, nose, ear, face, mouth, tonsils, back, genital organs. The action that supports this technique, is enduced through the nerve endings.

Auricolomedicina Auricolotherapy is a technique of cure similar to Chinese acupuncture, is based on the principle of the human ear are reflected all the bodies, apparatus, and functions of the human body; in the event of sickness

or dependencies, stimulating these points through needles or electrical, mecanical or laser stimulationes

encourages the restoration of an equilibrium and induces psycho-physical well being through the greater production of endorphins. (v.p.7).

Exploiting these mechanisms, with the auricolotherapy it’ s possible to cure the nervous, digestive, gynecological, and articular disorders can be treated and also the addiction to smoking.

The technique has its roots in the times of time. The Egyptians understood these techniques related to the

ears. For example, women in Egypt put points in their ears to control their their weight, while in China acupuncture has been used widely by more than 5,000 years. The technical evidence demonstrates that the

ear is an very important organ in animals and humans. The complex of structures which constitute the organ supports hearing and participate in maintaining balance through static and kinetic adjustments. ,The ear

serves not only to receive sounds but also to transmit signals from the inside outward. There is a cognitive

therapy to regain and restore diagnostics for a new holistic and natural medicine. This is called auricolo-medicine.

Whenever there is functional anomaly of a body or system, the frequencies emitted are different from when

they are in perfect health, therefore, they emit sounds heard by certain electronic equipment, and some people with very particular hearing are able when approaching the ear, to hear these abnormal vibrations

and understand the meaning. Every strange “sound” perceived by some patients within their ears is

because there is Abnormal function. These sounds are not transmitted outside but only disrup the person who feels them.

Generally these sounds (noise) are symptoms and signals to help interpret illness because they are linked to chronic and hidden anomalies of certain glands and organs, systems etc. (thyroid glands, block of the

normal functions cervical and the blood glucose lowering blood pressure, increase of certain minerals and

vitamins with fall of other, etc.). We remind you that the Light informed, (the frequencies modulated received or create from human being) it

stores in the living bodies, in which the substrate basis, the "land" physiological, the amorphous metals based of rare minerals.

There is also the possibility that once the anomaly of the host body or system is known, transmissions, through ear vibrations can be used to balance for anomalies. These therapies are used in auricolo medicine.

In addition to these important and recently rediscovered treatments, about 50 years ago, Dr. Nogier conceived the idea of the possibility of a somatopia foetal ear, and this has become the basis of

auricolotherapy in all its aspects. Following on from this theory, it was tested particularly in China from 1958, through the ranks of the

military, on whom official medicine was practiced directly in the field. From that date enormous amounts of

information has been collected, that allowed them to validate the intuition of Dr. Nogier with the rediscovery of the reflex centres-auricolare-, in the various organs and systems of the human body.

Let's see, here, what are the features and benefits auricolotherapy. It is one of the more easily learnt

diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, and can be used across all ages. It has applications to a wide range

of diseases; the results achieved are rapid and effective, even if the disease or dependence is chronic and has existed for a long time.

auricolotherapy is among the reflexology techniques that allows a more immediate response to stimuli, by the subject being treated. Indeed, it is of considerable help in all types of emergency.

REFLEXOLOGY and massaging the vertebral column, has a shortage or absence of side effects. In fact, the

sensation when a subject feels the needles that is even less when they are stimulated electronically. Excellent results are obtained with the use of needles with Electrode stimulation applied in the centre of the

ear points. The use of needles identifies these centres and Electrode stimulation is applied to the same points by directing the stimuli in a spherical shape.

In some cases local reactions occur but these disappear immediately, as soon as you remove needle. If the needles or ear are not well disinfected may infection may occur. This can be avoided through maximum

hygiene and cleanliness and with the sterilization of needles before treatment, using heat or special

disinfectants. With Electrode stimulation this problem does not exist because this technique is non invasive. The auricolotherapy is widespread and used to anaesthetize patients facing small operations such as the

removal of teeth, removal tonsils, treatment of distortions, interventions in the nose, throat, in the eye etc. The auricol treatment uses in its most simple and immediate application, a pressure detector, but may be

used remotely to control electronic passive, active, mechanical, vibrators, soft lasers, cauterisers, etc.

Auricolotherapy The therapy uses various techniques: acupuncture, moxibustion, electrical stimulation, laser, micro massage "for accession", use of magnets, micro massages and activating of medicinal products. Some of these

techniques are, in forensic medicine and for a judgment of the Court of Cassazione OF THE ITALIAN

REPUBLIC, regarded as the "medical Act".

(a) Micro massage

This is a method of treatment not invasive, easy, welcomed by patients, effective and very, so that an old

aphorism Chinese sounds like: "all the points headsets painful points of therapy are effective". For the micro massage is used with the use of "needle drop", ALSO easily can be produced by techniques of "home made".

With the instrument "drop" beneficial gently for a minute each of auricolozonul selected, bilaterally. The micro massage manual and/or instrumental can be daily in the forms acute, bi-tri-weekly in those

chronic diseases.

(b) Electronic micro massage This type of micro massage is particularly useful in the cases of addiction to tobacco smoke. A beneficial

satisfactory result can be obtained even with only one application. It can be practised through electronic devices that have a terminal with the double function diagnostics because they signal the auricolozone QU

where the electrical resistance has decreased and It’s therapeutic allows the use of the AZQU selected with stimulus electronic impulses that have similar to those of players used in the operating room for analgesia

with acupuncture.

It can also be practised using electronic equipment of the new generation intended for practical therapeutic use. An electronic terminal stimulates a painless way AZQU chosen for the duration of a minute or of the

time established by the same equipment, in the case of more sophisticated equipment, for each Zonula

c) auricol herbal-thermo-aromatherapy It is a particular technique that combines the advantage of aromatherapy with that of moxibustione. The tip of a lighted stick scented AZQU is selected. As soon as the patient feels radiated heat, the tip of the stick

must be removed. This procedure is repeated slowly for 10 times on each AZQU. It never must be burned on the skin. There are sticks of various types, mainly limited to perfumes polyvalent

of sandal or incense.

(d) technique for adhesion " Applying this technique after the micro massage and the herbal-thermoaromatheray. AZQU you apply to chosen with a sphere of crystal beads, sterilized. Stops the bead with a plaster of mm5x5. The patient

should self-massaged for 3-4 times per day and the AZQU for a few minutes. As small sterile needle is Injected in the auricolozonule indicated, after disinfection skin, and it is left

inserted to about 15 minutes.

Indications and contraindication auricology The auricoltherapy is useful: In allergies and toxic cases, especially in allergies and respiratory disergiche, (rhinitis, asthma), digestive

(food intolerance, food allergies) and pharmacological properties. Even in intoxication superfluous in the

phsychodependancy(alcohol, tobacco, light drugs, foods etc.) this method can be applied with success. -In disorders of neurodistoniche and somaticizes in disforic states, neurotic, distimics: this series of disorders

of endogenous nature may complicate with first suffering "functional" and then "organic"

apparatus and intestines. The protracted pharmacologic treatment can generate psicodipendence, secondary

unpleasant and dangerous effects, but avoidable with auricolotherapyc practice.

-In emergencies: the auricolotherapy detects medical indications even in cases of urgency, especially in the

absence of adequate medical facilities immediately available. The auricolomedicine had its strict testing during the war Afghanistan, under the auspices of Medicines SAS frontier and international medical Aide

Medical International. The auricol micro-massage and energetic- psicosomatic can always be associated. -In pain treatments: the anti pain auricologic maneuvers are one of the main specific indication.

-In rehabilitation: the auricolomedicine is an effective complement, with micro-massage DUI Na An Mo, to

strengthen and facilitate all operations in Rehabilitative Medicine. -In sports medicine, for the physical form of the athletes, for the recovery after a race, always are near the

micro-massage of Far East -In cases of dependence on tobacco, alcohol, light drugs, food, etc.

-In respiratory pathology diseases acute and chronic

-In pathology of gastro digestive l

-In the obstetrical and gynaecological -In the treatment of minor mental disorders

-In pathology cardio-circulatory -In pathology urological-genitals, female and males

-In diseases of the sense organs (disorders of visual acuity, hypo-presbioacusie, pathology

otorinolaringoiatrica (means ear nose and throat) -In osteo-rheumatics especially osteoarthritis, post-traumatic and degenerative diseases

-In traumatologic orthopedic medicine -In dermatology

-In estetic medicine -In diseases of rechange

It’s better to avoid the auricoltherapy

-special precautions must be taken in pregnant women, also in patients who use high doses of psychotropic drugs for a long time (and may be refractory to rebalance energy), in irreversible diseases, dermatitis and

inflammation in the auricolar pavilion, in elder weakly subjects (in lack of JING QI!). The use of electrostimulations are prohibited in patients with a pace maker and of those who suffer epilepsy.

-In all cases it is a fundamental the ethical standard that the patient should always be aware, conscious and

to agree of the treatment being proposed.

Conclusion In conclusion, we can today serenely declare that the auricolomedicine officially enters the list of therapeutic

treatments for traditional Chinese Medicine and modern medicine. It is also recognised by the World Health

Organisation (WHO).

The auricolomedicine is a technique of easy learning, and of simple use.

Auricolotherapy with “Elektromeridian Kobra” The method Elektromeridian Kobra manages to make the best of the principle of the reflexology auricol, and

auricol therapy, a stimulating through a charge of spherical point shape, under computerized electronic operation, the points reflected of the auricolars pavilions are to restore the psycho-physical balanced state

altered by cigarette smoking. This method also makes the body to increase the production of the endorphins necessary to compensate the

request for nicotine. The length of treatment and the time of stimulation of each point, are processed by microchip and software

equipment relating to the number of cigarettes actually smoked, age, the results of a spirometric test and

the years of smoking etc… In this way, through this sophisticated equipment, we are able to obtain a personalised treatment and

therefore maximum efficacy.

What are the endorphins stimulated by Elektromeridian method Oppiodi substances endogenous, growing to forms equipped with biological properties similar to those of

morphine and of opiates. The discovery of these substances where reached by studying the biological mechanism of action of

morphine and of similar alkaloids. The effects are closely linked to specific receptors in the central nervous system, and in very high concentrations in those brain areas created by perception of the sense of pain.

From this it was possible to demonstrate the presence of substances indigenous. By creating a similar

biological effect, by varying physiological conditions in the transmission and the perception of the pain sensitivity, closely linked to the receptors for opiates. Currently there are four distinct classes of endorphins,

respectively “ALPHA”, “BETA”, “GAMMA…” and “DELTA”. The system of endorphins belong to two substances extracted from pentapeptidic originally nervous tissue and referred to as “encefaline”.

The cells designed for the production of endorphins are scattered in several parts of central nervous system. These substances are also present in the brain (Frontal and rear lobe), the adrenal glands, salivary glands,

in the gastrointestinal are tract (in the gangli and nervous tissue and also in the secretorie cells).

The biological significance of these substances are extremely complex and to them is attributed an intermediate function between hormones and the neurotransmitters, the substances which ensure the

transmission of nerve signals. The endorphins seem to play a considerable role in pain control, not through drugs but through professional

help, aucupuncture, hypnosis, electrical stimulation, and pain relief from placebos. In all of these conditions

it is indeed possible to observe an increase in brain activity both beta-endorphinic and encefalinosimil. The activity of endorphins may also interfere in the mechanisms leading to the phenomena of pharmacologic

dependence and addiction in the crises arising from abstinence from cigarette smoking. Other biological effects concern the thermoregulation endorphins, the hormone production, the reaction to

stress, control appetite, the functionality of the gastrointestinal tract (motility, secretion digestive, secretion pancreatic).

Elektromeridian Elektromeridian is a computer equipped with a sophisticated system of data collection and processing. Collected data is transferred into the computer and stored in accordance with statistical methodology. The

electrical impulses generated by the Elektromeridian device are within the following safety standards:

-Low Voltage Directive 73 /23/CEE and subsequent modifications and integrations implemented by 93 /68/CEE 791 Law, 18.10.1997

-European directive relating to electromagnetic compatibility 89 /336/CEE of 03.05.1989 as amended by directive 92 /31/CEE of 28.04.1992 implemented by D. L. 476 of 04.12.1992

Final considerations As previously viewed deduce by doctors’ principles, the method is not given to subjects with a pathological

condition and is absolutely free of dangerous effects both directly and indirectly with the exception of the specific cases detailed above. The results obtained and monitored, were carried out under strict University

control and over a period of time detailed, it is clear that the technique Elektromeridian tends to relax the subjects and to effect in a very high percentage, a clear action to discourage (behavioural smoking),

interrupting what is defined as a vicious cycle, under which a person tends to smoke more and more. This is

done by creating instead, a lasting and virtuous cycle to the condition of a non-smoker. Seeing the positive results, of testing and of the returns of the users data, it is the intention of this Author’s

Report’s to resume under the University auspices, with the relevant checkout and with the methods of statistical analysis of today, the experiments viewed by psychosomatic, in order to evidence the effects of

de-conditioning in the context of the human behaviour.
