God calls Saint Clement Parish El Señor llama a la parroquia de San Clemente to be a welcoming, worshipping a ser una comunidad amigable, que adore community of faith, hope, and love. y sirva al Señor con fe, esperanza y amor.

A Reflection From Deacon Paul:

Faith in the Vision

In His ministry Jesus had a vision of the Kingdom of God

where people would help each other, care for the sick,

clothe the naked, feed the hungry etc. But He knew

this vision was not an easy vision to implement in the

world he lived in. The prophet Habakkuk who lived

some 2700 years ago described a very violent world that he

lived in, and it is not much different from the world we live in.

He saw a world of violence, misery, destruction, strife and

wondered where God was in all this misery. Jesus knew that His

vision would not be easily attained. The Apostles asked for

faith, they would need faith in the teachings of Jesus as they,

too, faced a world of greed, violence and infidelity. It is hard to

keep faith when the world seems to be destroying itself. The

Gospel tells us we can’t do the minimum, we are called to go the

extra mile. It takes courage and love to keep the vision alive. In

Paul’s letter to Timothy Paul encourages Timothy “…to stir into

flame the gift of God that you have through the imposition of

my hands.” Just a little faith in the vision can produce

astounding results. We are called to keep the vision Jesus

taught us alive.
