WHAT IS KDS

Most restaurants consist of a KITCHEN that prepares food for orders received from a POS. These orders need to be passed to the kitchen effectively so that chefs can prepare the food accurately and efficiently.

The most common solution is using a KITCHEN PRINTER, where order tickets are remotely printed in the kitchen after orders are entered into the POS.

A KITCHEN DISPLAY SYSTEM replaces the function of a kitchen printer with video displays. When an order is entered into the POS, the data is communicated to the KDS CONTROLLER which will display the order contents on a VIDEO MONITOR. The chefs interact with the KDS through a BUMP BAR or TOUCH SCREEN.

KDS MANAGER

Kitchen orders are sent from the Point of Sale to the KDS Manager through xml files. The markup language description is intuitive and simple, allowing applications that currently send orders to kitchen printers to quickly support our Kitchen Display System. The KDS Manager notifies the POS application (file) when orders have been bumped off or recalled. The software can be installed either in the same computer of a Point of Sale application or, if desired, on a different PC.

Any commercial Display up to 21” can be used alongside bump bar if a Touch Screen is not preferred. When using the LS6100, it must connect via Serial.
