   51 Jesus said to them, "Have you understood all these things?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." 52 Then He said to them, "Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his 

treasure things new and old." 

 

 

 

53 Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, that He departed from there. 54 And when He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, "Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works?

 

 

 

55 Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His 

brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? 56 And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all 

these things?" 

 57 So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not 

without honor except in his own country and in his own house." 

 

 

 

 

58 Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father. 28 Then Jesus said to them, "When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, 

and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things. 29 

And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always 

do those things that please Him."

has no honor in his own country.”

without honor except in his own country and in his own house." 

Jeremiah 12:5-65 If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, then how can you contend with horses? And if in the land of peace in which you trusted, they wearied you, then how will you do in the thicket of the Jordan? 6 For even your brothers and the household

though they speak fair words to you.

13 And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and 

Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of 

Jesus, and with His brothers.
