We Know Painting and Wall Covering Services

Painting contractors provide interior and exterior painting services to residential, commercial and industrial clients. While some technical training programs exist for painters and wall covering specialists, most of the professionals learn through on the job training. Approximately 36,000 painting contracting businesses exist across the country with a reported value of work totaling $122 billion. The industry is populated by small businesses and barriers to entry are low because the equipment and training necessary to launch a paint contracting business is inexpensive in comparison to other businesses. Well over 50% of these firms only have up to 5 employees, even during peak season. There are approximately 7,800 paint and wall covering stores operating throughout the United States, and the entire industry is worth approximately $20.9 billion. Specifically, paint and wallpaper stores' annual sales total approximately $10.1 billion. Demand for wall coverings is predicted to grow 7.8% annually through 2015, reaching $26.2 billion. Demand for wall coverings is projected to advance 8.2% annually to reach $2.2 billion in 2015. Through 2015, demand for wallpaper products is projected to grow 7.3% annually to $480 million in 2015, while demand for wall panel products is expected to be up 9.0% annually to $1.2 billion. Decorative tile wall coverings demand will also grow, 7.1% annually to $450 Annual Revenue: The total business revenue reported for the 480,176 specialty contractors who filed returns with the IRS was $656 billion. The mathematical average revenue reported for each firm was $1.724 million. Peak Season: Painting contractors are usually busiest in Summer and early Fall, when the weather is dry and warm. Annual advertising budget is approximately 0.5% of retail sales for painting contractors. Target Consumers: Most customers come from a 100-mile radius. Top Product Categories:
