Seniors 12/01/2017 Pre-Literacy: After singing our N song, the children played a game where they had to look at a picture and see if it began with an N or a T. This game helped with phonological awareness. Pre-Math: As the children used cranberries, measuring cups and water in the sensory table, they demonstrated an understanding of measurement using non-standard units. Social /Emotional: The Seniors participated in our community outreach effort by making holiday cards for Bookwallah, a non-profit organization. These cards will be distributed to orphan children in India. This activity enhanced the social skill of caring for others. Fine Motor: Using pipe cleaners and beads to create patterns, the children used small muscles and eye- hand coordination. Gross Motor: The children increased their movement awareness as they gathered leaves on the playground. A Peek at Our Week Reminders Beginning on Monday, December 4 th , our classroom gingerbread man will be making a home visit each night with a child. Details will be in the take home bag. Upcoming Events Holiday Traditions : There are still a few slots available to sign-up to share your holiday tradition. Please check Sign-Up Genius. Science/Art: The vinegar tissue paper processed art provided an opportunity for the children to make predictions and use their senses.
