TRANSCRIPT

A note from our ChairmanBefore the overture starts, be sure that you have enough room around you to allow for some toe tapping, because I can guarantee that tonight’s performance will certainly have you up on your feet!

This is another innovative show for EHOS, bringing ‘Footloose’ to the Broxbourne Civic Theatre for the first time, but with the extra twist of it being set in the present day.

As the Director of this show it was important for me to show you not only that EHOS can match its excellent vocals with excellent dancers, but to portray the story of parenthood, grief and love. Footloose has so much to give as a show, with such an amazing story, so sit back and let us tell it for you, and don’t be afraid to get up and do just a little bit of boogying!

Lily Tello - ArielLily is a recent graduate from The London School of Musical Theatre. She made her West End debut at the age of 8, in Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind at the Aldwych Theatre. She then went on to many TV and film credits, including over 30 episodes of The Hoobs; playing Simon Pegg’s daughter in Big Train; Warner Brothers’ Chasing Liberty; and Penny Pingleton in Sky1’s Hairspray: The School Musical with Denise Van Outen, which included a West End performance at The Lyric Theatre.

David Bottomley – Reverend Shaw MooreDavid has been performing in amateur dramatics productions for 38 years, (difficult to believe we know!) and has been in well over 80 shows. David has played many leading roles, including Pirate King, Billy Bigalow, Sky Masterson, Curly, and Jud, in various performances of Oklahoma!, as well as the title role in Sweeney Todd, Max Bialystock in The Producers and Phil in Love Story. This is the first time David has performed with EHOS and he has really enjoyed working with such a talented cast.

Tara May - RustyTara is so pleased to be returning to stage after taking a two year break to have two beautiful babies. She would like to thank the cast of Footloose for making her so welcome in her first show with EHOS, and hopes it will be the first of many. She would also like to thank her husband-to-be for being ‘Superdad’, taking over at home and giving her the chance to return to her love of performing. Tara would like to wish the cast and crew the best of luck.

Kat Rooke - UrleenKat has been a regular performer with EHOS for four years and has performed with various societies in the past. Her favourite roles to date include Crystal in Little Shop of Horrors, Helen in Half a Sixpence and the Good Witch of the North in The Wizard of Oz. Other performance credits include RENT, Cinderella, Return to the Forbidden Planet and Beauty and the Beast. Kat has loved rehearsing for Footloose and hopes everyone enjoys the show.

Lorraine Bottomley – Vi MooreFootloose is Lorraine’s first show with EHOS. She is delighted to have the opportunity to play Vi after directing the show a few years ago, especially as the whole family is involved. Lorraine has appeared in a number of musicals, her favourite roles being Kate/Lilli in Kiss Me Kate, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls (both opposite her husband, David), and the Baker’s Wife in Into The Woods. Lorraine’s next project is directing the local premiere of Sister Act. Lorraine would like to thank EHOS for being such a welcoming and friendly bunch.

Molly Tello – Wendy JoHaving just finishing her A levels, two of which are in drama and dance, Molly is ecstatic to have been given a principle role in her second show with EHOS. She has adored working with the Footloose cast just as much as she adores the performing arts, and hopes the audience enjoys her performance and the show!

He is looking forward to performing with a great cast and wishes them all the best of luck.

Daniel Goode – Wes WarnickerDaniel has been performing for many years now around Hertfordshire, but he has always had EHOS as his home society, and is pleased to be the society’s president.
