Explore the new storefront StoryWalk® on MainStreet happening now through June! A complete story-book for young readers is installed page-by-page in the store fronts of participating downtown businesses. Pages are read from the outside of store windows, and fun, related activities are suggested between pages. Details of the StoryWalk® can be found on the MainStreet Libertyville Website or at berniesbookbank.org/storefront-storywalk/.

Thanks to Bernie’s Book Bank, Libertyville Lincoln and Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club for making this activity possible. The StoryWalk® project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and has been experienced in 50 states and 13 countries.

SIDEWALK SALES (July 16 & 17) – Check out the bargains galore (inside and outside) from your favorite local downtown merchants.

MAINSWEET DESSERT WALK (Aug. 7) – Spend an afternoon shopping downtown and sampling goodies along the way. How sweet it is! Tickets are $15 or $20 on the day of the event (subject to availability).

Local History (book) in the MakingBy Erin Kahn, Design Chair

The MainStreet Libertyville Design Committee is excited to announce that this year we will be publishing a high-quality hardcover coffee table book featuring over 40 distinct historic homes from around town. This a new and exciting endeavor after 17 years of house walks. Our professional photographer and publishing company will help tell the story of Libertyville’s history through beautiful and artistic imagery and design. In lieu of a house walk event, books will be available for sale before the holiday shopping season.

We do! MainStreet Libertyville is a volunteer-based organization, made up of locals that love our village. We love Libertyville and we show it by helping local businesses succeed. You have probably heard of several of our efforts like Farmers Market, Car Fun on 21, Lunch in the Park and Let’s Wine About Winter. Through activities like marketing, social media and fundraising –we always find a way to make a difference. Why do we do it? Have we mentioned that we love Libertyville? How do we do it? With the help of residents like you! As we enter the recovery phase from the pandemic, our local businesses need our help and we need you. Please consider volunteering your time and talent to help our businesses survive and thrive. Learn more at the MainStreet Libertyville website at mainstreetlibertyville.org/volunteer/. We know you will make a difference, and you can have fun doing it!
