Monty will be drawing one name from all Central Maine Credit Union Monty Moose

members, to win a Christmas basket that includes: a stuffed animal,

a DVD and a book.

The Monty Moose Savings Program is designed to reward children for learning to save. Monty Moose Dollars will be given to the child or adult making the deposit in person to the child’s Monty Moose Account. Automated direct deposits into a Monty Moose Account will not receive Monty Moose Dollars.

Don’t forget treats for your pets during the holidays. They’re part of the family, too. Take extra care to keep them safe around decorations, lights and trees. Keep candies and foods out of their reach that could harm them if eaten. Keep tinsel away from your cats.

Winter sports are lots of fun. But when you're sitting on that sled, getting ready to ski, or doing a figure-eight on the pond in your skates, you have to know how to be safe. No matter which winter sport you choose, staying warm is important. The right clothing and equipment will help you do that. Ask an adult if you're not sure what to wear outside.

Sometimes kids say, "I don't mind being cold." The tough guy (or girl) approach isn't a good idea. Staying warm isn't just about feeling comfortable. Your body needs to stay warm to work properly. And when your

body is at the right temperature, it won't need to spend as much energy getting warm. That will give you maximum energy for winter fun. Also, if you're dressed properly, it means you can stay outside longer without worrying about frostbite.

Frostbite is what happens when skin is exposed to cold temperatures and freezes. This can damage your skin and parts of your body, such as fingers and toes, so bundle up!
