From Social Ministries…
Reminder, if you normally just dis-
pose of your Christmas gift bags,
we ask that you instead to please
donate them to our committee, so
we can reuse them for our resi-
dents gifts next year. This will help us reduce
our costs so we can in turn use it for items that
will make a difference. We accept all sizes of
gift bags. Also we are collecting used
Christmas cards for our residents. Please do
not tear them apart, as this is therapy for
them. Thank you.
If anyone has any of those old afghans
that they don ’t use anymore and would
like to donate it to the Social Ministry
Committee, they may leave them in the
yellow bin at the bottom of the steps by
the church office.
Also, we could also make use of a
throw. This is a great gift item anymore. If
you have replaced an old one, we can
find a good home for the used
one. Please keep us in mind.
St. Peters One Stitch at a Time Ministry is
again asking for your continued support with
our stitching ministry. Because of your help,
hundreds of lap robes, afghan style lap robes,
walker bags, neck pillows and chemotherapy
hats have been given to residents of Grace-
dale, New Eastwood, Slate Belt Medical Cen-
ter, Chandler Estates, Pathway to Santa, Wal-
den III, Pleasant Valley Manor, William Manor
and the Alexandra Manors in Bath, Bethlehem
and Nazareth. If we are blessed with more in-
terested stitchers, we would then be able to in-
crease the number of nursing homes we
serve. Anyone who enjoys crocheting, knitting
or sewing is welcome to help us with these pro-
jects.
Yarn and material is provided for you. The yarn
is located in the coffee hour area along with
some patterns (but you may use your own pat-
terns if you wish).
If you have any questions, you can talk to
Marilyn Hart or Kathleen Campbell.

The New Year
Dear Master, for this coming year,
Just one request I bring.
I do not pray for happiness
Or any earthly thing;
I do not understand
The way Thou leadest me;
But this I ask—Teach me to do
the thing that pleaseth Thee.
I want to know Thy guiding Voice,
To walk with Thee each day.
Dear Master, make me swift to hear
And ready to obey;
And thus the year I now begin
A happy year will be,
If I am seeking just to do
The thing that pleaseth Thee.
