A NEW STANDARD FOR LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN EDUCATION

A new standard for Leadership Development in education

This 24-month part-time Masterrsquos programme sets a new standard for leadership programmes in education surpassing previously available school leadership programmes in terms of its depth of content quality of participant experience and 1-2-1 executive coaching

Successful participants are awarded a Masterrsquos Degree in Educational Leadership a Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeship and Fellowship of the Chartered Management Institute

Bringing together leadership expertise from the private public and third sectors the programme is immersed in educational context while also developing leadership theory and practice that is transferable across sectors

Key eligibility criteria include

bull GCSE English and Maths at Grade C

bull A Bachelorrsquos degree and QTS or a PGCE

bull A leadership role and autonomy of an area within their school

CUSTOMISATIONThe Senior Leadership Programme can be customised for larger education bodies delivering a cohesive series of school improvement projects across a trust local authority or school We can optimise modules to fit a specific context strategy or ethos - promoting alignment and shared commitment amongst leaders in a number of schools This is available for cohorts of 25 or more learners

360 REVIEWFor 3 months of the Senior Leadership Programme participants will complete a 360 review of an area of school improvement within the school or trust This review will use management techniques learned during the programme and will require engagement with all stakeholders in the school including governors and parents The review can form the basis of the work-based project

WORK-BASED CHANGE MANAGEMENT PROJECTIn the last 6 months of the on-programme period the participant will undertake a work-based project which will bring together elements of their learning from different parts of the programme and show their accumulated knowledge and understanding of management and its application in their organisation

GCI COACHING TRAININGThe Senior Leadership Programme includes a comprehensive module of leadership coaching for schools which is woven into all programme elements and helps participants to build constructive conversations and relationships supporting their 360 reviews and change management projects

Throughout the Senior Leadership Programme you are supported by our dedicated Support Team your school the University of Buckingham and a dedicated Senior Tutor with extensive experience in educational leadership Liaison Officers ensure that all parties are fully focused in supporting you to complete the programme successfully

Our Support Team offers a data-driven service that tracks your progress through an online portfolio tool This enables us to personalise the support package you receive and provide proactive interventions to ensure you succeed in meeting your learning goals The team also conducts regular progress reviews and provides feedback on your submitted work

The Senior Leadership Programme costs pound18000 over 2 years Schools and trusts can pay this fee with their existing apprenticeship levy contributions
