In reference to the above described loss, this report will acknowledge receipt of anassignment from your office on September 28, 2010 at which time we were asked to inspect and appraise the damages to the insured’s Vermeer underground boring machine.

UNIT INSPECTION:

On September 30, 2010 we traveled the insured’s place of business in to inspect the underground boring machine in question. Upon our inspection it was obvious that the unit was a total loss due to fire. Damages incurred were all over.

SUGGESTED ESTIMATED DAMAGE COST:

, in an effort to see if the machine may possibly repair we priced parts through the local Vermeer dealer and have now completed our appraisal. Unfortunately we must inform you the unit is a total loss and should be disposed of for salvage. We have now completed our total loss appraisal in the amount of $142,385.46.

BETTERMENT/DEPRECIATION:

, no matter what amount of betterment is applied to the repair the boring machine would not be repairable.

TOWNG AND STORAGE CHARGES:

, it is our understanding that the unit had just been unloaded to start a new job when the fire occurred. It is our understanding that the insured loaded the machine up and returned it to the storage facility. There will be no towing and storage charges at this time.

TEMPORARY REPAIRS:

None applicable.

UNIT ACV:

a instructions we have contacted and furnished them with all pertinent information for their evaluation of the machine. In order for us to determine if in fact the machine was repairable we had to price parts and also get an approximate ACV. Approximate ACV of the boring machine in question is $135,000.00.

SALVAGE:

, we have contacted unit and furnished them with all pertinent information for the disposal of salvage.

SUBROGATION:

We are not aware of any involvement from any other party that would constitute subrogation possibilities.

COMMENTS:

, this should give me what you need to finish up the claim with the insured. After pricing parts and formulating the labor it is obvious the unit was not going to repair. Please advise us if we can be of help with any disposal of salvage or any further details.
