When planning what to write, brainstorm different possibilities based on the theme and picture and pick the best idea. Then, add on to the story idea by expanding on it- add interesting details, use better words and phrases to describe it and include better characterisation to entice your readers.

Writing a good introduction
There is nothing wrong with this introduction. However, It does not serve a real purpose and is boring for your readers!Introductions can be lively and dramatic, even unexpected and shocking.
The introduction you write has to be a good hook to the story. It has to be interesting and fun, not monotonous and boring.
Look at the following introduction:
It was a beautiful morning. Birds were chirping a lovely tune and fluffy white clouds were floating across the sky.
The sight that lay before me shocked me into silence.
“Crash!” my mother’s favourite vase, her family heirloom, fell to the ground with a resounding crash, shattering into a million pieces across the cold, hard, marble floor.

Developing the problem
The problem refers to the conflict in the story, like:• A stolen item• A lost child • A fight that broke out• Someone cheating • A new experience
Prior to writing the story, make sure that your story has a problem. The problem in your story has to be real, logical and big enough to be considered a problem. Remember that for your story to be interesting, your problem will have to be a good one, that will allow you to develop the story better.

Complication

The complication in a story is the reason behind the problem/ conflict.
For example, if the problem in the story is a student cheating in an examination, what is the reason behind it?
Is it because the student:- Had not prepared for the examination due to him/her being
lazy/complacent?- Had fallen sick prior to the examinations and was not feeling confident
about doing well in it?- Had been tempted as he/she was seated next to the best student in
class and felt that he/she may do better if he copied from him/her.
Prior to writing, the complication behind the problem for the composition should be clear so that the story is vivid, logical and organised.

Climax

The climax of a story is the most interesting, exciting part of the story where:- The culprit is caught - A attempt to cheat is stopped- The bullies are apprehended - The truth behind an incident is uncovered
Remember to describe vividly how the climax happens with impactful vocabulary and ensure that the climax is well elaborated and there are no gaps in your story.

Resolution

The conclusion of the story has to end in a creative manner so that your reader feels that the story is complete and has ended.
In order for the story to be impactful, the conclusion is as important as the introduction.
