• 13,768 schools were damaged during the quake.
• 11,687 schools are going to be rebuilt.
• 3,399,900 students started the fall semester on September 1st.
• The number of students and teachers who were killed in the earthquake is still not published.
• Schools in quake area make the psychological intervention as a mandatory course. China are working on both physical and psychological recovery from the disaster.
QUOTE• Children who are traumatized often feel helpless, confused, and
ashamed and are afraid to trust others or their environment. Therapists who encounter these children must form a productive relationship with them to enable them not only to revisit painful experiences, but also to overcome intrusive memories, make meaning, and find hope.

DESIGN QUESTIONS• I am studying technologies that can help trauma kids find hope,
because I want to find out how designers can bring positive changes to them, in order to use my skills to do something good for children who survived the Sichuan earthquake.
• What is the best medium that I can take advantage of to deliver information to the children in the other side of the earth?
REFERENCE• After the 911 attack, psychologists and therapists helped children to portray
what they saw and what they felt through painting in order to release their bad memories.
