Dear Members,

When I think of October, I think of jack-o-lanterns, scarecrows, Halloween, corn mazes and pumpkins. I have the baby’s costume picked out and I know this will be an exciting year to take her trick-or-treating! There are so many wonderful events and activities to participate in… be sure to regularly check out our e-

blasts, website and Facebook, so you don’t miss out on any fun!

With the slightly cooler weather and fall decorations, also comes the busiest season of the year for your Chamber organization! We have started getting our membership information up-to-date for the 2017 Chamber Directory. Forms were mailed out to you, so if you have not already done so, please get the information back to us.

October’s Contact Breakfast’s featured speaker is Claire Lessinger, Di-rector of Special Events for the Tampa Bay Sports Commission. She will be sharing about the upcoming College Football National Champi-onship game that will be held in Tampa in January. The Strawberry Classic Car Show will be held on October 15th and the Hay Exchange is hosting the Business After Hours on October 20th.

To keep things going in October, the Plant City Leadership Class of 2017 will have their second session. The opening retreat was a huge success and I know they are all looking forward to getting back togeth-er! October also brings the Chamber Board of Director’s retreat where strategy and planning takes place for the upcoming year. Your input on how you would like to see your Chamber serve this great communi-ty is valuable. Please email, stop by or call with your thoughts. I look forward to working with all of you for the continued growth and suc-cess of The Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce!

“Businesses Building a Better Community” is more than a slogan – it’s a promise.

Make it a great October! ~Christine
