GOOD NEWS • On November 9, April Deener, 8th grade social studies, was honored by the Kentucky Historical Society with their History Award in

Frankfort. Deener was the only educator to receive the award among Kentucky authors, historical organizations museum curators, and historians.

• Girls’ JV basketball defeated LTMS on November 29, 29-23.

• Congratulations to the Maze Runner Challenge winners: First place Suraneek Misha; second place Austin Hawkins; third place Jacob Letamendi; and fourth place Alex Medrano. They were challenged to code a robot to navigate a maze using variations of ninety degree turns. The robot could not break through the maze or return to start and must be able to run from both entrances. Students did not know the orientation of the maze or where the turns would be. This is the first of a series of coding challenges for them to conquer.
